DROD is a unique puzzle-logic game with clever mechanics and an engaging story. It is a turn-based top-down 2-D dungeon puzzler. The game play has amazing depth through emergent behaviors as puzzle elements are combined. There is a simple interface and only a handful of commands to master.

This game managed to keep me engaged throughout its entire runtime. While a few puzzles feel unnecessarily tedious, the puzzle quality was surprisingly high and consistent. One gripe I have is how annoying it is to find the
secret rooms
, especially post-game where you're trying to hunt all of them down, since it boils down to "
can you spot the faint crack in the wall
".
This is, hands down, the best puzzle game ever.

Gunthro and the Epic Blunder is an absolute joy of a puzzle game, and I would recommend it to anyone who's patient and willing to figure out some mind-bending puzzles. The soundtrack is lovely, and the mechanics are simple to learn, difficult to master. It's a great beginner's introduction to the DROD series, but it doesn't hold your hand for too long. The difficulty ramps up slowly and consistently. My only complaint is that the story is a little light, and it doesn't really have a resolution (which ends the game on quite the sour note!). If you give it a play, try not to get too invested in the plot.

Very clever puzzle game with incredible depth to it, it encourages you to learn every nitty gritty detail of the core mechanics. Strong recommend for anyone who likes Baba is You or other sokoban-style games, even though this one is less box-pushy and more fighty.
Unlike any puzzle game I've played. While it plays quite differently from sokoban style games, it requires the same kind of thinking, and requires some truly clever outside-the-box problem solving.
A great way to get into the DROD series's classic puzzles, and when you're done you have a ton of content in both the paid dlcs (some of which are full games) and free fan content.
