Reviews
Some games are a bit jank, but I think this is one of my favorite collections out of all 5.
So glad I heard about this series, I plan to play the others for my friends when we have time to sit around. A fun way to try interesting ideas and learn about more indie developers in the horror space. Highly recommend. There were some hit and misses, but some I have even booted this back up to replay.

solid little collection of horror games. rotgut is total ass but the reset ranged from "okay" to "pretty cool" so id say its worth it.
The first Dread X Collection isn't as good as later ones... it includes some really janky ones.
Полный кал
leave rotgut for last istg worst game in the collection
Interesting, very rough and raw experience
Game Reviews
(minor spoilers ahead) The Pay is Nice: 4/10

Way too cryptic to be enjoyable imo
Optimization nightmare, game lags for no reason
The medication puzzle is interesting, I actually would have preferred a game fully centered around that, though technical execution isn't perfect
Overall, game isn't very interesting Don't Go Out: 6/10

First impression was very poor, but in the end, the idea is interesting and execution is pretty good
Card part isn't pushed enough, but still pretty cool
Still suffers from lack of visibility, you can get killed by stuff other than obvious enemies without being able to see, and you're left wondering why
Hand of Doom: 9/10

Loved the concept and execution
Actually made me wanna play the full game
Wished it was longer though
Loved the way you cast spells
Visuals typical Torple Dook, overall I had a lot of fun
Summer Night: 8/10

Fun little game, with lots of surprises
Message actually spoke to me, maybe why I liked it so much, as opposed to most reviews
The Outsiders: 2/10

Perfect example of an interesting game design concept poorly executed

First loop is a bore, having to wait 10+ min running in circles in an empty house, just to start the loop going and having a few clues, just to realise you actually need multiple pointless runs to have enough clues to finish the game is just tedious and painful

The shed route is also just boring and painful to navigate, just why
Also,
wtf was that ending???? No one talks about it, but it was absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥???? Like, I see an anti-specism message, and maybe one against the entertainment lobby, but execution is horrendous

Mr Bucket Told Me To: 4/10

Not bad per se, just very uninteresting
ROTGUT: 0/10

The single worst video game "experience" I ever had to lay my eyes upon
The Pony Factory: 5/10

Good homage to Doom 3, but way too frustrating to be fully enjoyable
With telescopic melee attacks and homing ranged attacks, game is frustrating to play (maybe it's just skill/PC issue, but I just didn't enjoy the experience)

Rerun every level backwards for the end is just cheap

It's good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like people are overhyping it just because it's from DUSK and Iron Lung's dev (great games btw)
Shatter: 7/10

Honestly, I've seen the game receive a lot of ♥♥♥♥ from other reviews, but I actually liked it
Visually and thematically interesting, gameplay simple yet no major hassles, enjoyable experience
Carthanc: 1/10

Frustrating gameplay, platforming way too aproximative and slippery
Difficulty is profoundly stupid
While not to Rotgut levels, it's still fairly ugly, especially the TRON-like enemies
Feels like the game just lacks meaning and taste
Hub: X/10

No mini-games on the hub unlike the other collections
Story was pretty interesting though
Overall I can't recommend this collection in good faith, especially compared to the other ones which all outshine this one + Most good games from this collection are available in standalone, so go check them out instead!
Most of the games in this collection are either uninteresting, badly implemented, a total joke (Rotgut) or a mixture of those things. The only two games I actually enjoyed are The Pony Factory and Summer Night but I wouldn't recommend buying this collection to play them, especially since The Pony Factory is a standalone game available on Steam
