Drawn®: The Painted Tower

I ran into a glitch in the game and it would not allow me to progress.

I played this game when it first came out 15 years ago at another site. I remember that it had been hugely popular back then but had forgotten so many of the details. I was very happy to see that it plays fine on Windows 10 and had no problems at all. A very unique puzzle game that is delightful with a large variety of puzzles, some harder than others. This is the first of three in the series and is continued in the next two "Drawn" games. The art style and music are so well done creating an immersive environment. A truly charming and innovative game, even years later. Highly recommended!

Good: -Nice artwork -Well done, appropriate music -Smooth, cartoon-like animations Bad: -Often have to find the magic pixel that is clickable to interact with something -Puzzle minigames have no instructions, and often there are no indicators what you are supposed to do. Combine this with sometimes having to hunt for the right pixels to click, and you may spend some time frustrated before you finally are able to get started -A lot of backtracking (no map that teleports you as in other hidden objects), and back tracking causes a short loading animation each time. -No hidden object scenes. You find some objects to use elsewhere and solve puzzle minigames, so this is borderline whether it is a hidden object. It's more "adventure-lite". The game is close to a middling ~ rather than an up/down, but I found myself frustrated too often to recommend it.

I don't know if anyone still plays this game but I recently played and finished it. It's one of the best puzzle adventure games I've ever played and I always have trouble finding ones I like. They're either too hard, too boring, super quick etc.. Anyways I highly recommend. - Although since it's and older game it can be glitchy. Not the actual gameplay for me but the cutscenes were actually really glitchy and on the sequel I actually had to quit the game because it kept crashing.

This game is often overlooked, and overall it's fairly short. But quite well done, reasonable puzzles, and definitely worth playing if you're a point-and-click adventure fan. Not incredibly tons to say, other than wishing there was more to it all. Recommended overall :)!

Drawn is a great puzzle and adventure game with amazing art and witty puzzles. I enjoyed jumping into different paintings and having to use elements from them or the scenery elsewhere. However, sometimes I got the feeling I was being sent back and forth between paintings or rooms an aweful lot. A bit frustrating with all of the loading, not to mention that the game crashed on me three times from start to finish. That aside, this game has an interesting and touching plot with bits of information about Iris and her past and possible future in pieces of paper scattered throughout the game and scenes with recordings to keep you motivated. When playing you require patience and smarts, but puzzles can be skipped after a few minutes have gone by (achievements are lost if you skip or don't solve them before this period of time runs out) and luckily there's also Franklin to give a hint or two (and not the easiest ones, at that!). Overall I had a good time playing this game and admiring the graphics. Definitely a recommended game to those who love puzzles and want to take their time completing them. I hope to see the two sequals of Drawn available on Stream soon.

Really gorgeous and imaginative

Much too short, and too easy. The only times it was hard was because of bad mechanics and/or no explanations of what to do. Also, he story, while cute, did not really make much sense. You are helping a girl, but who are you? Why can't she do anything herself? Why is she on top of the tower? And the ending was just bad. Only buy if you really like puzzles, and if this game happens to be on sale. I bought it during a 65 % sale, and beat it in just one evening. Or better yet, buy "Riven, Sequel to Myst" instead.
