My first ever Steam review. Draw Steel is so good I needed to get the word out there. Amazing VTT even though only in early access. This is from someone coming from Foundry VTT which is also good, but for me this is next level. Dedicated developers and community who helps out on DIscord. And of course, the Draw Steel RPG is amazing as well, so the combination is a 10/10. Also, the low price is a complete steal.
Easily the most fun I've ever had in an TTRPG. It's just... Made better. You can't beat MCDM's design philosophy. Give it a go. It's just getting better all the time.

Its still early access, and a little rough around the edges, but the RPG is quite good, and the tool is flexible enough to fix most of the problems we face manually. The starter adventure works well, at least the early part, to teach the game mechanics.
Matt had been talking for YEARS about the fact that we've never really seen a proper VTT aimed at a single game. This is it. And by god even though it's still unfinished it's THE smoothest experience using a VTT I've ever had. Absolutely fantastic. Draw Steel will turn into my main game simply because of this. It's such a powerful tool!
It's Draw Steel! from MCDM. They took all the good stuff about all the different things they have played in the past, and put it into a new VTT without taking any of the bad. The system makes D&D look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The VTT makes all the others I've used look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's still in EA, and better than a lot of VTTs that are years if not decades old. They are still actively working on it, every week seems to be a new update, and all the updates make meaningful fixes and add more content. If i could give two thumbs up, I would. If i could give ten thousand thumbs up, i would. I cannot recommend this enough.
I love this VTT so much. 10ish years ago I started with roll20 and eventually graduated to foundry. Looking to play draw steel I decided to try this out. It just works. Foundry always feels like its held together with spit and duct tape. This, even in early access, is solid. Currently porting my Eve of Ruin campaign into it (so far so easy. Also loving the map creation, supports webm and other video/image imports). Draw Steel, as a system, is far superior to D&D. The strategic table talk is so much more fun than everyone waiting for their turn. My players love it. I love it. please support it.
Fantastic game! Love it more than DND!
Slick VTT, does play more like a video game then an rpg at times.
I played 5e on various different VTT platforms and if the experience was like codex I probably would have never have even bothered with Draw Steel. It is fun and easy, too things that don't always go hand in hand with our hobby and I think that it doesn't get better than this with what is out there now.
Currently in early access: This VTT is janky as heck, but it's getting better every week. 90% of enemy and player actions are automated and work correctly... that 10 remaining percent can be frustrating though, and leads to some situations where you realize you have to go back a turn or two and do some math that the program missed. Hopefully all these problems will be baked out before they go to full release :D
