An excellent package for what it’s supposed to be; which is an large iterative expansion invoking the old yearly iterative yearly sequel model of the old Budokai Tenkaichi games, and then later the Raging Blast games. Within their own series’ those games were 1 year apart from each other and from game-to-game didn’t actually change or add all that much to justify a whole sequel by today’s standards. This expansion essentially amounts to a replacement to that yearly game business model, along with helping support the free content updates we got leading up to it and along with it. 33 characters, 23 costumes with many including new moves, 4 new unique stages and a bunch of stage variants, new story mode levels, new bonus battles, and a brand new ambitious roguelike single player mode with a ton of replay value that even bleeds into multiplayer with character progression. Not to mention that mode adds a ton of new character interactions separately from other modes. And as someone who preordered the ultimate edition, I don’t think asking for 35 dollars (same price as the standalone season pass which has comparatively far less content btw) nearly 2 years later is that big of a deal, especially because back in the day we would have had to pay for the price of a whole new game just a year later for a similar amount of content added/updated. I’d much rather pay 35 dollars for a big expansion as opposed to another 70 or 120 dollars for a new game that would likely split the existing online playerbase. Anyways, expansion gud. The new content is awesome, highly replayable, very fun, and the new characters, costumes and moves are very cool, highly detailed, and unique with incredibly very cool new interactions too. (Been playing this on Playstation, but I loved it enough to buy it on Steam as well.)

I may love this, especially the Limit Breaking Journey, BUT one con about it: the overtuned CPU job we got. They play on Hardcore Mode, yet the difficulty is on default, constantly blocking every Rush or Blast, plus the health bars are nonsense. No reason to give the CPU an advantage when we're still learning of the new characters and abilities. I still say Yes on gameplay, but the CPU tune-up wasn't needed.
Sparking Zero has come a long way! Petitions were submitted weeks after release, I remember original fans requesting a few tweaks in the game as well as some more content. Afterwards we were granted just what players wanted. I cannot complain over the most recent DLC, I don't know how other players are upset. If you are supporting an economy overseas or the developers keeping in mind they work hard long hours in Japan, $35.99 should not be a problem for anybody. Deluxe Edition players were promised season 1. Neo is another separate wave of season 2 DLC. It's not that hard to understand. Keep it up Bandai. Good stuff !
This is great! NGL $35 for this much is very little money for gaming in 2026, that's like a single Fortnite or Marvel Rivals skin. A full DLC like this isn't going to go out the door for free with $20-$30 skins going like hotcakes. This is $1 dollar per character. That's not a lot and complaining about it makes you look kinda poor. Just admit the Truth. You can't believe GT Goten wasn't included.
Im glad they added alot of the characters i felt the base game was missing. more solo/offline content is fun. I wish this DLC added more Steam achievements though. Would recommend on sale
Decent to Solid. People complaining about it not being in the Season Pass is cringe inducing and shows Dragon Ball fans really can't read, even Steam itself showed it won't be in the season pass, and it came 2 years after that season pass. Good content, new mode is fun, I think there's some costumes and characters still missing but what we did get is great, this is pretty much an old school sequel level expansion. Do people just pretend the transition from BT2 to BT3 was free? Lol. Prob 7.5 out of 10. If you're that butthurt about 35 bucks for "not enough content!!!" or "stuff that should've been in base game!!!!" just wait for a really good sale, it's really not that deep.
I enjoy the new mode and characters but the price should only be $20-30
