very amazing game from my childhood. definitely the weirder middle child of the doom franchise but contrary to popular belief this is still a fast paced, guns blazing game if you just play it like that. i like the survival horror aspects of it and the game has some good gunplay and great environments. best way to put it is that this is doom without the doomslayer. it’s definitely not for everyone but if you think a combination of resident evil and doom sounds fun then you should give this game a try!

[h1]On BFG Edition[/h1] A solid version of the game but it makes certain changes that aren't necessary for the better. The most notable being the ability to use the flashlight while holding a weapon and increased ammo counts throughout levels. The flashlight change actually makes sense when you consider this version was made with consoles in mind so that change isn't necessarily offensive due to the limits of gamepads. The increased ammo counts however, don't have a good reason to have been implemented. I replayed the BFG Edition on a PS3 recently and came away with a much more positive impression, as an aside the performance on the PS3 was generally much more impressive than other FPS contemporaries of the console, usually keeping around 720p60, but there are unfortunate dips in the latter half of the game. With my recent playthrough in mind, I think this version of the game actually most merits being played on a gamepad, as that is what it was balanced around. This also comes packaged with Doom 1, Doom 2 and the No Rest for the Living WAD. The versions of the games included are serviceable copies of the game but the more recent "Doom 1 + 2" remastering is likely significantly better at this point. Nevertheless, they are still a very welcome feature, especially with the No Rest for the Living WAD inclusion being a particular highlight. Have not played the BFG Edition's rendition of the Resurrection of Evil DLC so can't comment on that.

Doom 3 is a interesting one.It is different than Doom1-2 ? Yes. Is it better ? No. Is it mind blowing good horror FPS ? ♥♥♥♥ YES. Best Doom + System shock crossover ever.

Fun enough I guess, even if different from other Doom games. It's more like an FPS Dead Space, though nowhere near as good of course. Kind of longer than it should be, with the endless corridors, and that's even before the two expansions. So, be prepared for that.
