It obvious a lot of work went into this, which makes it harder for me to right this review. Though it has a lot of charm and some nice tools, its missing some basic tools and features that I feel would really enhance the game play. 4 players is pretty limited for a drawing party game. No layers in doodle dash/ no dedicated line tool. In Doodle Dash, only the host can generate prompts. Being able to change the time and certain aspects of each game is nice, but this collection of games is not an significant improvement from similar products (Gartic Phone, Jack box and Magma studio). With the comparison to Jackbox, you pay 20 dollars, but that's all you have to pay. With one copy, your friends can join in with just their tablet or phone. With this, everyone you want to play with has to pay 12 dollars. That's not including tablets if you want pen pressure. I really wanted to like this game, but ended up feeling disappointed. With other overall cheaper/free options out there that have better tools/better replay ability, its hard to recommend doodle champ. Maybe with some updates and more game modes, that could change.
A drawing party game with SOUL
--- TL;DR high quality, artists party game. pen pressure!!! funny as gameplay extreme charm --- From the sound effects, to the UI and music. Everything here is quality, mario paint does come to mind. All 4 games modes are just super funny!! Canvas Crew though is oddly relaxing with the right people. Just drawing with friends in the same space an then colouring in their piece or adding something. Very mellow at times. Honestly, there is a lot of ways to help you be creative and draw things you'd never draw on your own. I often levitate to drawing the same stuff at times. But having to draw a random out of the blue prompt in 30 seconds to 10mins... Or trying to make a witty solution to a problem and thinking of how that can make my friends laugh!!! The pencil is likely my fav drawing tool, the way it looks is just, something about it.

Very fun game!! Incredibly charming UI, sounds and music. The individual gamemodes are really fun to play with friends and if the game gets updated with more gamemodes it'll be the go to artist game to play with friends.
This is E3.
this is a very fun and very well made party game for friends, i will definitely be playing more and will definitely be recommending it to my friends!!
Support indie games... I think this game would massively gain reputation if there was the ability to invite your friends to play the game with you for free, like giving a link and it takes them to a website where they can join from or smth? I think it needs to take notes from jackbox for friendsharing, or at least having a "friend play version" on steam where you can use it to join other people's lobby Additionally, having some sort of "quick match" you can do to find other people playing would be great, using steam's network I feel like there is potential here for something other drawing games don't have(as long as you have a report art button) Biggest issue is, I don't know anyone who owns the game and can't really do anything alone with this game, its a party game that costs 8$ per player, maybe if only one person needs to buy the game and own it and then They can host the game and invite other people to join? --- Overall, I wish I could rank this higher, but since free art party games are just so much more accessible across devices, are free so anyone can hop in, etc, I think the game really struggles with standing out and doing unique things compared to other drawing partygames Feels like a lot of potential, and I think this could be the jackbox party pack for artists if we made it more accessible to people, I enjoy the concept and theme and UI, but I can't really play the game without other people to play with...
this game is really awesome, its super fun to play and draw on and i love it super well made game too, everything its all so cool you can really tell that the people who made this game really put effort into it
DISCLOSURE: I was a beta-tester for Doodle Champs! Doodle Champs was made over 4 years by a tiny dev team, and may well be the ultimate art-based party game. Made by an artist, for artists, with dozens of QOL considerations and features to make doodling and goofing around with your friends an absolute blast, it may well be the best art based party game ever made. You don't even need a tablet or to be able to draw to join in - you can play with a mouse or tablet, and its all about having fun and being creative. Each mode has its own unique vibe and theme, so theres a game mode for every friend group. Doodle Dash is a non-competitive prompt-based challenge - everyone is given the same thing to draw, and its revealed after time is up! Theres also a CHAOS MODE VERSION where you can interfere with your friends doodles via randomly offered powerups - think the items in Mario Kart, except it puts DOZENS OF BEES onto your friends canvas, flicks boogers onto it, or just blows it the hell up! Art Assembly is a group-based mode - everyone is given part of a creature to draw and a prompt (like Alien, Robot, Zombie, etc). You get a custom amount of time to draw, and at the end, its revealed and you can see what kind of horrible beastie you've made! Pencil Pushers is my favourite mode - every player is given a unique client with a unique problem. Draw the best solution to their problem, and then present it to your friends and have them vote to either BUY IT or FRY IT!! This mode can get incredibly fun, and seeing everyones creative (and often nightmarish) ideas is a blast. And then, finally, theres Canvas Crew, a chill, unlimited mode to just sit and draw and chat with your friends. Everyone gets a layer, and as long as they'd like to sit and draw together. Its the perfect game to sit and play and chat with friends during a hang out session, and its always a great time. If you are even a little bit creative, I highly recommend Doodle Champs for you and your crew!
It's like combining your favorite drawing games from when you were a kid with some Jackbox/Mario Party wackiness. But it's also an entirely unique thing, with modes designed JUST for multiplayer and a really cool "chill-out" zone for just drawing with friends. I love how customizable everything is, and the soundtrack is really good. Idk i hope more people discover this game and join the Discord so I can find more friends to play with :)
help i can't stop making silly creatures in art assembly mode that have disproportionately short arms this game is very fun and scratches an itch in my brain in a way that other party games don't. also something about the general design makes every drawing i make look 10x better than it would anywhere else, which is honestly very impressive. i would highly recommend it, even to non-artists!!!
