About
An outside threat reaches your homeland, a quiet northern island. You play as Fjør, a young warrior among those born under the Fate of the Guardian, blessed with exceptional combat prowess. But that alone is not enough to defeat the invaders and protect what's sacred to your people.
Walking the path of a Warden, explore the island above and below the surface: forgotten caves and ominous forests, gloomy catacombs and sacred ruins, where you shall fight hordes of monsters, discover well-hidden secrets and harness ancestral legacy.
Inspired by the best of the hack-and-slash genre, Divinum has a wide range of options to master and experiment with. Launch enemies into the air, where they are unable to act or escape while Fjør gains access to unique moves. Unleash unstoppable combos with two distinct primary weapons and special skills. Leave your foes no chance with quick dodges, blocks, and parries.
Explore the world, look for secrets and fight bosses to find Runes that meaningfully change how you fight. A +5% damage item? You won't find anything this boring in Divinum. Runes can provide anything from solid unique bonuses to modifiers that can completely change how you approach battles — but great power often comes with trade-offs.
Across the island, dangerous trials and ancient evil await you. Conquer them all and claim generous rewards!

Game eventually lands at a 5/10, really tough to see. The start of the game feels like a 8/10 with potential but as the game goes on you realize that it isn't really going to evolve from the very start and that is sad to see. no fun parkour challenges to do, no mechanically deep enemies to learn their patterns to counter properly, no interesting traversal abilities that open up the map in some big way to make exploration more fun, and worst of all the ending. The ending alone takes another point off. It is trying its best to build towards something but you have no clue who any of the bad guys are, or why they are doing anything, it is so lame, and you don't even defeat the big bad boss in a cool way you just get a short cutscene and its over. You are even given a second weapon to play with for 30 minutes before the game ends, why? Could have been so much better, because there is potential with some of the bosses.

Divinum is a fun game with enjoyable combat and exploration, but I cannot in good faith recommend it just due to how short it is, and how abrupt the ending is. playing at a casual pace, you'll finish the game in about 4 hours, if that much. the ending is anticlimactic and boring. it doesn't really have any replay value, so after you beat the game all that's left is to explore the rest of the map to 100%, which shouldn't take more than 2 hours even without a guide. it's far too short for the price, but if it's on sale for like $5 then sure, it's a fun enough time.
E a pixel art é linda.

Just played a little bit. Going to dive deeper in this weekend but so far so good. Combat is smooth. Story seems interesting and I like the graphic style this game is offering.
I really wanted to post a good review for this game.. but is seriously the shortest game ive played in a very long time. I beat it in like 7 hours.. and that was exploring everything and doing most of the trials. I get that its cheap and people are saying that it "doesn't overstay it's welcome" but it is way to short a game for even the cheap price.
Divinum is a fast-paced, aggressive 2D Metroidvania with tight controls, some fairly fun trials of combat and traversal throughout in an attractive pixelated dark fantasy landscape. While challenging at points and fun it is fair to say that it's more akin to "Baby's first Metroidvania" in comparison to some more robust games in the genre that offer deeper combat and platforming options and shorter as well, which may be a good or bad thing depending on the gamer as it's more than possible to beat the game within 6 to 12 hours if you're not a completionist who searches every nook and cranny like myself. I imagine this game would run like butter on most handhelds btw as it's not too demanding. That said, I really enjoyed my time in Divinum for what it was as at it's core it is easy to get into and a little addictive once you get going and I would recommend it for Metroidvania fans or anyone wanting a shorter experience as a palate cleanser. It's well worth it's $14.99 asking price.
