For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away.
Divide by Sheep is a charming, morbid little puzzle game that sneaks up on you — what starts as cute sheep-herding quickly has you slicing animals with lasers and watching wolves devour their friends, all in the most adorable art style imaginable. The math-based mechanics are simple but satisfying, and each new world introduces fresh hazards that keep things from getting stale. It's the kind of game where you sit down for 'just one more level' and suddenly two hours have vanished. My only real gripes are that it clearly started as a mobile game (the UI gives it away immediately), and the lack of an undo button means a single misclick forces you to restart the whole level. Still, for the price — especially on sale — it's a genuinely fun, brain-tickling experience I'd recommend to anyone who likes casual puzzle games with a dark sense of humor.

It got bored pretty fast, but it looks promising even today! Might be better for mobiles
Divide By Sheep is a puzzle game that proves even the simplest mathematical concepts can become surprisingly entertaining when combined with creative design and a strong sense of humor. Developed by Victor Solodilov and Denis Novikov and published by tinyBuild, the game takes arithmetic-based problem solving and wraps it inside a whimsical yet morbid adventure. At first glance, its colorful presentation and adorable cast of animals suggest a lighthearted experience aimed at casual players. However, beneath that cheerful exterior lies a cleverly designed puzzle game that constantly challenges players to think logically, plan ahead, and occasionally make ruthless decisions for the sake of reaching the correct solution. The game's story is intentionally absurd. A lonely Grim Reaper seeks companionship and decides that the easiest way to gain friends is by collecting more souls. This bizarre premise sets the stage for a series of puzzles where sheep, pigs, and other animals find themselves trapped on small islands surrounded by danger. The player's task is to rescue the correct number of animals by moving them between platforms while dealing with hazards such as floods, wolves, lasers, and sea monsters. The dark theme is presented with a playful tone, creating a unique contrast that gives the game much of its charm. Watching cute animals meet unfortunate fates would seem grim in another title, but Divide By Sheep turns these moments into dark comedy through its cartoon presentation and tongue-in-cheek storytelling. The core gameplay revolves around numbers and resource management. Each puzzle asks players to deliver a specific number of animals to designated safe zones. To achieve this, animals must often be divided, combined, sacrificed, or manipulated through environmental mechanics. Lasers can cut groups in half, wolves can reduce numbers by eating sheep, and various obstacles alter the quantity of creatures available. What makes the design so effective is that every mechanic ties directly into the mathematical foundation of the game. Instead of feeling like a classroom exercise, arithmetic becomes a natural part of the puzzle-solving process. Players are constantly performing calculations without necessarily realizing it, as their attention remains focused on finding the correct sequence of actions. One of the strongest aspects of Divide By Sheep is the way it introduces new mechanics. The early levels are easy to understand and serve as an accessible tutorial for newcomers. As players progress through the four worlds and more than one hundred levels, new obstacles and interactions steadily increase the complexity. The game rarely relies on repetition, continually finding fresh ways to challenge the player using combinations of previously learned mechanics. This steady escalation keeps the experience engaging and ensures that puzzles remain satisfying long after the introductory stages have been completed. Visually, the game embraces a colorful and cartoon-inspired art style that perfectly complements its quirky concept. The environments are vibrant, the characters are expressive, and the animations are filled with personality. Even when animals are being sliced apart or consumed by predators, the presentation remains humorous rather than disturbing. The visual design helps create a memorable identity that separates Divide By Sheep from more traditional puzzle games. It is easy to recognize at a glance, and the playful aesthetic helps make complex puzzles feel approachable. The sound design contributes to the game's charm as well. The music maintains a cheerful atmosphere while players work through increasingly difficult challenges. Sound effects are simple but effective, providing satisfying feedback whenever actions are performed successfully. Together, the audio and visual elements create a polished experience that feels carefully crafted despite its relatively simple premise. While the game excels in many areas, it is not entirely free from frustration. Some later puzzles can become quite demanding, requiring multiple attempts before a solution becomes apparent. The absence of a convenient undo function can make experimentation less comfortable than it should be, occasionally forcing players to restart a level after a minor mistake. For puzzle enthusiasts, this added challenge may be appealing, but more casual players could find certain stages overly difficult. Fortunately, the quality of the puzzle design generally outweighs these shortcomings. What truly makes Divide By Sheep stand out is its ability to transform basic mathematical operations into meaningful gameplay. Many games that incorporate educational concepts struggle to remain entertaining, but this title succeeds because it focuses on clever design first and educational value second. Players are not solving equations on paper; they are navigating intricate scenarios that happen to rely on mathematical reasoning. This distinction allows the game to appeal to a broad audience, from dedicated puzzle fans to players simply looking for something unusual and creative. Divide By Sheep is a highly inventive puzzle game that combines logic, humor, and charming presentation into a remarkably enjoyable package. Its creative use of arithmetic, steadily evolving mechanics, memorable visual style, and darkly comedic premise make it one of the more distinctive puzzle experiences available on Steam. Although some of the later challenges can be demanding and a few quality-of-life features are missing, the overall experience remains consistently rewarding. For players who enjoy thoughtful puzzles that require both planning and experimentation, Divide By Sheep delivers a unique adventure that is as clever as it is entertaining. Rating: 9/10
