really good game, i've read a book before so none of the political stuff was super shocking to me but the depictions of urban decay, guillaume le million's trauma and the bond between you and your (platonic life-) partner was great
Communism killed me. Love did me in.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Disco Elysium is a masterpiece of writing, worldbuilding, and storytelling. Placed in the role of an amnesiac cop in the middle of a murder case, you must interrogate the residents of a small town on the brink of political turmoil to figure out what's happening, who was involved in the murder, and why you're there at all. Using the wittiest writing I've seen in a game and a Baldur's Gate-esque skill check system, this game strings along a twist-filled trail of breadcrumbs that I found thoroughly entertaining for the 25-ish hours I took to complete it. In a word, Disco Elysium is raw. It does not hold back with depicting brutal descriptions of crime scenes, almost unbelievably crass language, the nihilistic thought processes of isolation, and showcasing the worst parts of humanity that politics brings out. It depicts unadulterated reality in its ugly entirety. That being said, its rawness makes the game such an amazing depiction of humanity- it realizes that every person, regardless of political belief, age, and gender, is flawed, but that you as an individual can still make personal decisions and find meaning in the reality you find yourself in. This game is not for everyone. As I said earlier, its writing is extremely witty, but there is a lot of writing here. If you're not a fan of visual novels or reading in general, you will likely get bored; for most of the game, there's not much else going on besides text and voicelines. Along the same lines, every character in this game has an innate understanding of every political ideology and the nuances surrounding them; while I found following the heady dialogue and looking up specific political terms throughout my playthrough interesting, it can certainly be exhausting if you're not prepared for following it going in. The skill system can also lock you behind certain checks sometimes; I found myself needing to save and restart the game at least once in order to progress past a mandatory check. This aspect wasn't as annoying, but it was certainly present. Finally, and this is the most important caveat here, the people who currently own and are selling this game are not its original creators. There is much more information available to research online regarding the controversy, but I highly recommend at least waiting for the game to go on a drastic sale if you really want to play it legitimately.

Excelente juego, jugarlo de cualquier forma, pero ZA/UM es la peor compañía de videojuegos. Los creadores reales del juego ya dijeron que comprar Disco Elysium es un error.
Everyone must experience Disco Elysium
A while ago, a friend of mine recommended Disco Elysium to me, but I always put it off. Recently, however, I finally decided to give it a try...and I cannot believe what I've been missing out on for so long. Many aspects of this game make it stand out: the incredible music by Sea Power (which I've already downloaded to my phone to listen to at work), the gorgeous art style and unique UI stylization, the detailed NPC portraits, the deep RPG elements, and the way side-quests intertwine to affect the main plot. However, the most notable feature is undoubtedly the voice acting. The original ZA/UM studio did a phenomenal job with the cast. Every character has their own highlight: distinct pronunciation, unique lexicons, and diverse accents, but the standout performances are Lenval Brown (the Narrator/Skills) and Julian Champenois (Kim Kitsuragi), who deliver one of the best performances I've ever heard in voice acting. The writing itself is what makes the game truly unforgettable - the skills constantly arguing in your head, the political and philosophical depth, and the way failure is often funnier and more interesting than success. Different builds and the four political alignments completely change the tone of the story, giving the deep RPG elements real replayability. Another thing to highlight is the absence of useless achievements. Most developers like to pour them in just to have a lot of achievements. I've always been fond of detective and noir/neo-noir stories, such as the 1997 Blade Runner game, which Disco Elysium delivers perfectly and scratches that part of my brain. If you are looking for an intriguing detective RPG with bold, unique artistic choices, then Disco Elysium is the game just for you! Just be aware that it is very dialogue-heavy and a substantial playthrough, so go in ready for a long, text-rich experience. and remember:
HARDCORE TO THE MEGA!
