Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

....Really I wish I could get my money back this is the worst modern day slop I've ever seen. To compare this to any of the Dark Picture games is a crime. How do the models look worse then the O.G. Until Dawn. This is the most boring game I have ever played I fell asleep with the controller in my hands. I own every title from this studio but I wish I didn't own this.

Posting this in light of the recent layoffs at Supermassive Games. This game deserves more attention and sales. Directive 8020 is a good game. If you enjoy the kind of narrative-heavy low-gameplay games that Supermassive Games makes, there's a good chance you will enjoy this for a certain price. If you like exploring the narrative trees, this is the absolute best "Dark Pictures" to date for that. They make it super easy to jump around and do a "what-if scenario". The voice acting is pretty bad, but I enjoyed the variety of personalities and overall thought the story was one of the strongest from Supermassive. It's not perfect, but I'm not going to dunk on Directive 8020 for having room for improvement. A lot of love is poured into the Dark Pictures games. They're not for everyone, but they might be for you.
How this doesn't have online coop and the previews games (like House of ashes) did??????? I liked the game, but this is so stupid, and I already saw about your future update, that still very dumb cause just one person plays at the time. How is it that in the older games you could play at the same time with the characters each player picked and now its not an option at all??????
+ Good story, possibly great but that's subjective + Decent characters with diverse personalities - Insufferable CEO type character - Immersion obliterating stealth - Unsatisfying closure despite perfect playthrough
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020 :))
I just finished this one and the story was ok (not too great nor bad). The plot twist that happens in the final few episodes was definitely not expected!
I didn't predict it beforehand, but when it was revealed I just felt like "wtf why is the plot so complicated lol".
One huge positive: thanks to the new Rewind feature (similar to chapter select), you don't need to do multiple full playthroughs to clean up achievements like in previous Dark Pictures games! :)) There is still no cutscene skip, though. I also noticed they dropped the whole anthology part and just named the game "Directive 8020" lol instead of keeping the full title. Either way, I'm excited to see what's in store for us next! A decent experience overall!
