I don't even care when i die. I'm having fun!
one of the better games i have played in a long time i love and enjoy each time i play it. thank you
As a review, I personally enjoyed it. Nothing as of yet truly breaks the game in any way, mild inconvenience at best. Enemy leaves the area, reset at a stone. Really fun game and had a great time. It is kind of short, but it isn't a triple A game, and since 20 dollars barely lasts me a couple hours at an arcade on a good day, I am happy to spend it here. Glad to see the hard work pay off and It's awesome to see how much passion has been poured into this. Plenty of time to buff out the scratches, refine the product. Hope you don't get discouraged to stop here, especially after showing what you are capable of and what an amazing concept you have here. Maybe possibly even add dlc or something in the future?

DINOSWORD DINOSWORD DINOSWORD!! Now that we've gotten that out of the way; Dinoblade is so far on release a very solid game. I'm pretty casual when it comes to games that are a higher difficulty level, and as such and am finding it to be difficult but not unbearable. The soundtrack is FIRE, and the concept is just so cool that it makes me want to try harder even though this isn't my normal jam. I'm still only at the 3rd boss, but I'm having so much fun. Pros: Concept is a 10/10. When the first motion test went out on tiktok we all knew we would be buying this game even if it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The entire vibe makes me feel like I'm 15 again playing a sick hack and slash on my ps2 and I have no bills to pay. The enemies don't all feel the same (so far) and the different ways they move feel alive and intentional. It reminds me of a better time when games were short and cool to be just that, where they weren't trying too hard. If you're into metal, the soundtrack is PHENOMINAL. I get pumped up and it fits the combat so well, and when not in battle the background music is also quite nice and subdued. If you're not into metal, there is an option to turn the music off. The tutorial isn't overbearing, and I really like the built in controller support. I was a little unsure about how it was mapped at first but I'm getting the hang of it. I wasn't expecting any kind of story, but so far it's pretty cool! The voice acting was much better than I was anticipating when I realized there was going to be any. Cons: I saw other reviews say that the controls were a little janky, and it made me realize that it might not just be me sucking at Souls-like games. This might still be a skill issue though so take that for what it is. I have a hard time nailing the blocks just right, and they're pretty critical to get right as you can get big damage when you do it right. The map is pretty, but I do get lost sometimes because I like exploring every little thing. It's pretty linear, but that doesn't automatically equal bad. A mini map or even a compass would help a lot I think. The resonance feature is cool and fun to use but it does suck that in a boss fight, when you're out you're out. I want to use this cool feature but I run out of it fast or I have to limit how much I use it and that takes away from the experience a bit. Overall, for a dev's very first game right on release this is a great game. I paid the intro price of 17.99, and I don't think that's too much for what it is. I think with some updates and some time there's a lot of room to improve and smooth out some of the minor problems, but I think as it is now it's playable and very fun. I look forward to seeing how it grows!
I've played 18 minutes and already feel as though i've gotten great value, it's dumb, it's fun, it's a bloody DINO SOULS LIKE, do you like souls likes? do you like DINOS? play game, it does play more like Sekiro then the main line souls games if that matters to you
I'm a Spinosaurus with a flaming sword,
Edgy dinosaurs wielding swords, cleavers, hammers,
or even another dino
while beating the stuffing out of each other with reckless abandon set to heavy metal music. How can you not love that! I don't think there's a single thing about Dinoblade that isn't absolutely ridiculous, and I am here for it. Is it a masterpiece? Lord no. I'd say it's actually quite rough where it matters. The story is paper thin at best, there's lots of terrain clipping to the point I was afraid of falling through the floor, glitchy combat encounters, and the UI feels unfinished. With that said, the game is still a lot of fun and I had a big, goofy smile whenever I got to the next boss encounter and saw what fresh pre-historic nightmare the devs cooked up
Looking at you Mokusei
. For a relatively simple souls-like that is just pure stupid fun, $20 ($18 on launch sale) is a pretty good deal.
Ouuu shiii👀👀👀 Bought on release only reviewing to flex that 10/10
Absolute game right here, little rough around the edges but that's to be expected from an indie passion project from someone who never made games, they just liked making cool dinosaur animations. 10/10
great game the rendering needs work but the game is fantastic
