It does work, but to get it to work I have to play it in windowed mode (tiny and nonresizeable/unscalable) and delete all of the comics/ folders in the game files full of .swf files to make it playable and not crash. I'm on Linux using Proton 10. Generally Linux is better than modern Windows to play really old Windows games, so as this is likely even worse on Win11 I can't recommend anyone purchase this really. I just really, really needed a Diner Dash fix so I forked over $10. EDIT: You can actually change the scaling on Linux through protontricks. Install protontricks and winetricks for your distro, then run in your terminal $ protontricks 37240 winecfg This will open the normal winecfg menu. Changing the DPI in here will change DPI for this game and scale it properly. (May also require disabling window decorations in winecfg as well.)
i should've listened to reviews saying about it crashing, can't even get past the third level without it completely stopping, and then when you re-launch it the game won't last for more than 10 seconds without crashing. it is a fun game but deffo avoid and find a game that is similar :(

My childhood game and it seems more challenging than before. I love it! I followed their advise to not go fullscreen mode and I am having no problem.
Such a nostalgic game! It was absolutely terrific. Graphics everything was just as mediocre as I remembered and wanted. It was fantastic for the first few games and then BOOM, ran into a bug and can no longer play.. Screen black, big sad :(
It was fun at first, but then it got super buggy, especially the last stage. I couldn’t drag anyone to their seats, and reinstalling didn’t help either.
I do not own a gaming computer nor laptop, just a laptop and this runs just fine! The trick is to just play it in windows mode- not full screen. Lots of fun, just as a remember and a real throwback!
I love this game and have been playing different versions of it for years. However, it crashes too much and there seems to be no way to fix it.
Buggy and unplayable. Wife played it too long for a refund.
Full Screen mode has visual glitches, but even on Windows 11, as long as it's being played in Windowed mode, it plays very solidly. I'll update my review if I encounter something, but just do not play Full Screen.
The game works well in non-full screen mode. You will need to adjust in option menu. Super fun and nostalgia at the same time. Happy to pay full price for this. :)
