For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away.
Dice of Kalma – это...

Dice of Kalma reminds me a lot of Cloverpit with the slot machine removed: you can also concentrate on different poker hands (patterns in Cloverpit) and ultimately you are just pulling a lever in an attempt to reroll into a better score. As far as the gameplay goes, there are 25 rounds to play through in a standard run. While I enjoyed the gameplay loop and I did feel like there was a reasonable amount of skill/decision making, 25 rounds can easily start to stack up and verge on monotony. I'd recommend this for people who enjoy this kind of gameplay loop looking for a game they can play for 15 minutes at a time or can play between multiplayer game rounds.
Although Dice of Kalma looks like a stylized, casino-inspired luck game, don’t be fooled — it’s a deck-builder first and foremost, and a really good one at that. It’s highly addictive, surprisingly polished for a roguelite dice game, and far more strategic than it initially appears. The “poker hands” are only part of the experience; the real depth comes from how you build your deck, plan your synergies, and adapt your strategy. That’s what keeps every run feeling fresh. The community is incredibly passionate, and the developers are just as engaged. It’s super easy to hop into the Discord, talk with other players, or even chat directly with the devs — they’re always happy to help or share in the excitement around the game. Whether you just want something fun to pass the time or you’re a big fan of strategy/deck-building games, this is an easy recommendation. I enjoy it so much that I have it installed on both my phone and my computer. Its EXACTLY what it says on the tin you wont get fooled.
Took a bit to get into it. This game is about trying to find the synergies between the skulls. Can lose a lot of early runs due to bad luck. Not as good as Balatro though.
Como podéis imaginar vencer a la muerte no es sencillo, pero sí bastante adictivo. Tiene una interfaz sencilla, pero los combos nos harán pensar y ganar puede resultar complejo. Y ahora viene todavía con más dificultades. Dice of Kalma is a remarkably addictive roguelike strategy game that blends poker-inspired dice mechanics, dark fantasy atmosphere, and combo-driven progression into a deeply satisfying experience built around probability, risk management, and increasingly absurd scoring synergies. Developed by Pepperbox Studios, the game takes a deceptively simple concept and transforms it into a tense and rewarding cycle of rerolls, upgrades, and strategic planning where every decision can completely reshape the outcome of a run. While comparisons to other modern score-focused roguelikes are inevitable, Dice of Kalma establishes its own identity quickly through its skull system, gothic presentation, and highly replayable structure. The premise centers around challenging Kalma, the mysterious ruler of the Underworld, in dangerous rounds of dice poker where survival depends on generating massive scores through carefully optimized builds. Every run places players into escalating encounters where they must roll dice to create poker-style hands while collecting powerful skulls capable of modifying rules, boosting scores, or triggering unusual effects. What initially appears straightforward gradually evolves into a highly strategic game of synergy-building where understanding combinations becomes far more important than simple luck. One of the game’s strongest features is its skull mechanic. Throughout each run, players acquire special skulls that dramatically alter how dice hands behave. Some reward certain hand combinations, others manipulate rerolls, increase multipliers, or trigger unique bonus effects when specific conditions are met. As more skulls begin interacting together, the game transforms into a satisfying puzzle of optimization where weak hands can suddenly explode into enormous point totals through carefully layered synergies. The poker-inspired structure gives the gameplay an immediately understandable foundation while still allowing for impressive strategic depth. Traditional combinations such as straights, matching dice, and high-value hands serve as the basic framework, but once upgrades and modifiers begin stacking together, the scoring system becomes far more complex. Players gradually shift from simply chasing strong hands to building entire strategies centered around specialized combinations and synergy chains capable of generating ridiculous amounts of points. The reroll system is another major highlight because it constantly creates meaningful tension. Every reroll forces players to decide whether to settle for a safe score or gamble for something potentially far more valuable. This constant balance between caution and greed becomes one of the game’s most addictive qualities. Some of the best moments come from taking dangerous risks on a final reroll and suddenly triggering an enormous combo that completely changes the direction of a run. What makes Dice of Kalma especially engaging is how naturally it balances randomness with player control. Luck always plays a role because dice outcomes are unpredictable, but successful runs depend far more on planning, adaptability, and understanding synergy interactions than blind fortune alone. The game consistently rewards players who experiment with builds, understand probability management, and learn how different skull effects interact together. The roguelike progression system works extremely well because every run develops differently depending on the upgrades and modifiers encountered. Some runs naturally evolve into aggressive high-risk builds focused on huge multipliers, while others reward safer and more consistent scoring strategies. Randomized skulls, upgrades, and modifiers constantly force players to adjust their plans rather than relying on repetitive solutions, which gives the game impressive replay value. Pacing is another area where the game succeeds. Runs move quickly without feeling shallow, maintaining a satisfying rhythm of rolling, rerolling, upgrading, and experimenting that keeps momentum high throughout long sessions. The game rarely wastes time and constantly introduces new opportunities for stronger combinations or riskier strategies. This fast but thoughtful pacing contributes heavily to the “one more run” feeling that defines successful roguelikes. The atmosphere also helps distinguish the game from many similar strategy titles. Dice of Kalma embraces a dark fantasy aesthetic filled with skull imagery, gothic visuals, eerie lighting, and Underworld themes that create a moody but stylish presentation. Kalma itself becomes a memorable presence looming over each run, reinforcing the game’s themes of risk, death, and persistence. Despite its relatively minimalist structure, the game maintains a surprisingly strong identity through its visual direction. Visually, the game succeeds through clarity and style rather than technical complexity. The interface remains readable even during chaotic late-game combinations, while the skull designs and visual effects provide enough variety to keep the gameplay visually engaging. Animations tied to large scoring chains and activated bonuses help successful turns feel rewarding and impactful. The sound design contributes heavily to the experience as well. Dice rolls, activated skull effects, and scoring sequences all produce satisfying audio feedback that reinforces the excitement of building successful combinations. The soundtrack maintains a dark but hypnotic tone that perfectly matches the game’s addictive gameplay loop and gothic atmosphere. Another impressive aspect is how accessible the game initially feels despite the hidden complexity beneath its systems. New players can understand the basic mechanics almost immediately, but the deeper strategic layers gradually reveal themselves through experimentation and repeated runs. This balance between accessibility and mastery gives the game long-term appeal without overwhelming players too early. However, Dice of Kalma is not completely without flaws. One noticeable issue is balancing. Certain skull combinations and upgraded hand strategies appear significantly more powerful than others, occasionally reducing build diversity once players discover particularly dominant synergies. Some strategies become so efficient that they overshadow less optimized approaches. The gameplay loop can also become repetitive during extremely long play sessions. Although the randomized systems create strong replayability overall, the core experience remains centered around probability management and score optimization. Players who are not naturally drawn to combo-heavy strategy games may eventually feel the repetition more strongly than dedicated roguelike fans. Difficulty progression may also frustrate some newer players. Early runs can feel punishing until players fully understand how reroll management, skull interactions, and hand upgrades work together. While experimentation is consistently rewarded, the learning curve may initially seem intimidating for players unfamiliar with strategy-focused roguelikes. Despite these shortcomings, Dice of Kalma succeeds because it fully commits to its core identity. The combination of dice poker mechanics, roguelike progression, dark fantasy atmosphere, and synergy-driven gameplay creates a remarkably satisfying gameplay loop that becomes increasingly engaging as players uncover stronger and more creative combinations. For fans of roguelike deckbuilders, probability-driven strategy games, and highly replayable indie titles focused on optimization and experimentation, Dice of Kalma delivers an excellent experience filled with tension, creativity, and addictive progression. Its blend of gothic atmosphere, rewarding strategic depth, and satisfying combo-building makes it one of the more memorable indie roguelikes currently available on Steam. Rating: 8/10

Poker dice with the grim reaper. Love the simple retro graphics and sound... great aesthetic. Gameplay is easy to pick up. My first run with the tutorial I lasted 11 rounds and it took me 17 minutes. Great pick up and play game. This is one of those little hidden gems that's just different enough and just inexpensive enough to take a chance on. I'm glad I did.
