Today's patch broke the game for Steam deck, the fact this was not tested is ridiculous
The story is ok and leveling up to max was fun. But the end game....Insanely grindy and unbalanced. Kill every mob in one hit for ten minutes and then got one shot by some random thing. This happens constantly. Spend 10 hours grinding materials to reroll one item to exactly what you want, only to transfigure it and it turn to crap. This game is designed to waste your time in ALL OF THE WRONG WAYS. If you ever run into another player expect a crazy amount of rubber banding. I spent probably 20 hours farming a mythic helmet for a build based around no life only to get a god roll of plus 10% life on a transfigure roll...This game might be fun for streamers who get materials showered down upon them, but the end game is absolutely terrible for a casual player. Diablo2 is still the best, then D3 then D1 then very last D4. I blame streamers and Blizzard balancing the whole game based on them....the ones who play 12 hours a day... I hope I never come back.
Blizzard died long time ago.
Do NOT buy this unless the game [1/4 the content] AND the rest of the game hidden behind the DLC (lord of hatred - which has the remaining 3/4 content) are priced at $9.99 in total. The devs are under the influence of Diablo himself.
1 Paid Characters and Microtransactions 2 Mandatory 24/7 Always-Online Requirement 3 Frequent Unprovoked System Crashes 4 Many problems when Logging in via Battle.net No thanks, I don't want to waste time troubleshooting issues in games I play.
I honestly don't know what's wrong with Blizzard anymore, or what the Diablo 4 team has been smoking. But it's definitely nothing good. Season 13 was actually okay. They improved a lot of things and finally seemed to be heading in the right direction. Even though the system around Kanai's Cube still feels unrewarding in many ways, and in my opinion still needs a lot of improvements. Right now it feels like you have to spend 500+ hours (at least that's what it feels like) just to finish gearing a single character. Making Mythic Sparks easier to obtain was a fantastic change. It finally allowed players to work toward the best items at a reasonable pace instead of relying on a 100+ hour lottery just to see one drop. The Cube system itself is also a good idea overall, since it adds more depth to the game and gives each season more potential. But as I already mentioned, it still needs work. Current Season: I've never had so little fun playing a Diablo 4 season as I have with this one. Who thought changing the Mythic item system was a good idea? It was actually in a pretty decent spot. Why do you always feel the need to change things that the community already considers good or at least acceptable? Why on earth was it considered a good idea to throw Unique items into the Mythic pool and allow them to become Mythics? The Barbarian alone doesn't have around 10 Mythic items anymore—it now has over 60. And as if that wasn't bad enough, someone also thought it would be a brilliant idea to lock only one or two affixes while making the other two completely random. Seriously, Blizzard... what an amazing system. By the time you finally get the item you want, you'll probably be dead in real life. Grinding is fine. It's part of an ARPG. But only up to a certain point. With this system, how long are people actually supposed to play? Why are you trying so hard to artificially extend the grind? You've managed to create a system where players literally pay with their lifetime. Instead of being rewarded after a reasonable amount of effort, you now have to grind for countless hours, only for the item to end up being complete garbage because two random affixes ruined it. Congratulations. You've officially shown that you've become exactly like EA and Ubisoft. As long as the money keeps coming in, nothing else seems to matter. The community finally praises a feature and enjoys it? Great—better ruin it in the very next season. Thanks for that. And whoever came up with this Mythic item rework... maybe consider firing them. That would actually be a good decision for once.
A really good game made completely unplayable by memory leaks, poor optimization, constant crashing. I have a good mid range PC that can run every other game i have played including large open world multiplayer game. This is the only game I've ever had trouble with.
A love for loot and seasons♥️
I played Diablo III a lot and took part in almost every season, so I was really excited for Diablo IV. At the beginning, Diablo IV felt a bit weak for me and didn't fully capture the same excitement I had with Diablo III. But over time, the game improved, and since Season 13 I’ve found myself enjoying it again and getting hooked once more. The Diablo series has always been special to me and Diablo IV still has that satisfying combat, dark atmosphere, and addictive gameplay loop. There is just something fun about creating a character, finding better gear, and coming back for another adventure. After so many hours with this series, I’m happy to be back in Sanctuary and looking forward to seeing what comes next ♥ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2952901194 ︵‿︵‿☾ 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 ☽︵‿︵‿ ♥️ Awesome 🤍 Very good 🤍 Good for play once 🤍 It's ok / little Bugs 🤍 Very Boring / much Bugs ︵‿︵‿☾ 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸 ☽︵‿︵‿ 🤍 10 / 10 🤍 5 / 10 ♥️ 9 / 10 🤍 4 / 10 🤍 8 / 10 🤍 3 / 10 🤍 7 / 10 🤍 2 / 10 🤍 6 / 10 🤍 1 / 10 ︵‿︵‿☾𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁𝘀☽︵‿︵‿ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2953445806 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2985281911
They ruined the single player campaign experience while overhauling systems for better endgame experience. You overlvl everything, start oneshotting things without the ability to increase difficulty. Eventually i found a workaround through the aid of a friend which helped a lot. Main campaign The flow of the main campaign is very disjointed, the story often don't align correctly with conflicting story from one act to the next. But the last act is really good. I really enjoyed lilith and the 2e horadrim character. Did like the vibe but through updates it got reduced and the overhauls ruined it a lot in gameplay. Vessel of Hatred was the most cohesive (didn't do sidequests), which added to my enjoyment and the change in culture shown. But SPOILER, since it's story is more a leading up to the next expansion where the payoff is in the next expansion, I can understand most people would find this one the worst out of the 3. Lord of Hatred, far less disjointed than the base campaign, the pathing flow from one main quest to the next was far better which reduces the adventuring style but i think most people will prefer.(main campaign was too back and forth). The vibe and story of Lord of Hatred was more Diablo 3 style where you are chasing the big bad and he's just stalling you. The visuals are brighter less dark as well. Politics: carefull, ignorance is Bliss. Their is some manhating going on by the following happen too often (inlcuding expansion): Whenever theirs a Man / female duo or group dynamic (incl. sidequests). The man is oftens portrayed as wrong and cowardly or evil. The woman is right and most often the timeportrayed as brave and bashfull in a rude way, the stereotype of a young male rude person that wants to take action. But in this scenario it's not being called out. In Lord of hatred they become hypocritic woke. While in most content blizzard makes uses balanced representation, and forces female into male roles so to speak. In Lord of Hatred they keep the amazonian city fully woman: military, goverment, and the seers. Lord of Hatred also refers you as 'them' unlike the older content. (i don't like the hypocrisy and the bait and switch in new content)
I couldn't get passed as a human for a battle.net account. I'm so mad, this game won't work without an account.
