Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition

Sorry, loved the original, lookng forward to it but simply unable to connect to battlenet.com or even the battle.net app I downloaded as well. Total waste of time and nightmare. Why would you release a game so many people can't even run?

Looks great, sounds and feels better than the original. I will say, however, that its gameplay and general feel have aged awfully since I last played it. Don't get me wrong, there's a whole list of things that D2(R) does very well, but then there's still the need for regular farming on anything but normal difficulty, the lack of in-game information about cube recipes and runewords, incredibly repetitive level designs and no real way of shortening the all-same super boring beginning of the game before anything remotely interesting happens. In a way that's what the die-hard fans want and I get the sentiment out of having wasted my teens and early adulthood with the original. But to anybody else I find it very, very difficult to recommend. Maybe that's just me having found my holy grail of ARPG gameplay in Grim Dawn. Or maybe it's the realization that modern titles don't cause as much tendinitis with often better input schemes and less manual interaction for e.g. healing potions on your belt. Or the fact that I don't want to stare at the same tiles for hours where-as more modern titles do atleast have the (not always fulfilled) potential of giving you much more interesting environments to navigate through. If non of that deters you, however, you might just find your itch being scratched with this oddity of a re-release. Especially if you're looking to dig into game history and finding out why there's tons of people having lost their marbles over achieving a 0.02% chance drop of a specific item on a specific boss that cost them more important opportunities in life that they would ever want admit.
