Immer noch geil! Gute Steuerung und einfaches Spielprinzip, was aber nicht allzu leicht zu meistern ist. Für 1998 eine TOP-Grafik! Wenn man einen Gegner in die Luft jagt, geht der wie eine Mini-Nuke hoch! :D

I spent years trying to find this game, unsure if it was just a fever dream playing it on my Win98 PC back in the day. It was so much fun. I hate to admit it but thanks to AI companion apps - some asking around and shortlisting games I eventually managed to track this one down. At one point I thought maybe I was mistaking it for Wipeout, but I remember this game having better graphics and just being so much more fun. Installed and boy.. Its every bit as good as I remember. What a damn game! Its so fun and thrilling. It has the racing element which can be pretty hard in its own right but there's also strategy with which power ups to keep or use, managing your health meter. There's so much and I'm actually stunned a sequel of any kind was never considered. The market is currently saturated with similar titles tho which im sure pull ahead of anything that a Dethkarz sequel could release, but oh well.. For a trip down memory lane this one holds up really well. 100% recommend

Arkádová závodní hra z konce devadesátých let, určená především pro chvilkový závan nostalgie. Optimalizace pro win 10 je povedená, takže nemusíte shánět na alternativních platformách jako jiné starší kousky. Dethkarz nabízí 4 mapy, každou ve třech variantách, několik typů více či méně vyvážených vozidel a především zábavné demoliční derby v průběhu závodů samotných. A to jak v podobě střelby, tak bonusových vylepšeních rozmístěných po mapách. Ty poskytují například miny, rakety, nitro a další vychytávky. Hra má volitelné stupně obtížnosti a na tu nejvyšší představuje poměrně velkou výzvu. Za těch pár korun ve výprodeji stojí, i když je otázka, jak dlouho Vám nostalgie vydrží. Klady: + Optimalizace + Rozličnost jednotlivých prostředí + Mrtvý soupeř, dobrý soupeř. Demolice ostatních závodníků je tu velmi zábavná + Agresivní soupeři, kteří Vám zvládnou slušně zatopit Zápory: - Malé množství map i vozidel oproti moderním titulům - Hra asi už neuchvátí nikoho, kdo jí v minulosti nehrál a na Steamu je spíše jako sběratelský kousek, který se po výhře všech šampionátů rychle omrzí.

Incredible game for it's time, when you consider this game was made in the late 90s you realise that it had solid graphics for a game back then and the driving mechanics are still fairly comfortable even in modern terms, for $10 it's an absolute steal if you played it back in the day and will find plenty of nostalgic enjoyment. I've found many hours on this game through speed-running it and submitting times on a small leaderboard on speedrun.com. However if you've never played it before you might find it difficult to enjoy to the dated graphics (though the cars still hold up pretty well), but the thing that has aged horribly was the AI. This is what I'll base my review around as people who've previously played it know what they're buying. Just like many games of its time the AI are poorly designed and very centred around the player (partly for technical reasons of the time). Initially they seem very difficult, especially on hard difficulty. Without any knowledge the Hard difficulty takes into account shortcuts (though not all are developer-intended) and will drive much faster on certain maps (specifically The Pole (Medium) is the most noticeable). Once you know all these shortcuts the AI don't really pose much of a challenge aside from the constant rubberbanding which is more annoying than challenging. A developer oversight causes the AI to accelerate at double the speed on 60 FPS (their max speed remains the same), meaning that 60 FPS is harder than 30 FPS. Aside from the AI, my second biggest complaint is the Red Planet tracks, the Short version isn't too bad but the Medium and Long versions are so crudely made, bumping on what appears to be non-existent bumps, constantly sliding around because the cars don't have much traction, these issues become more prominent with the fact that the Red Planet tracks are by far the longest as well. Apart from these two issues however, the game has aged mostly okay and is quite enjoyable, providing a unique twist to racing games through the use of futuristic weapons and tracks, if anyone was to base a modern racing game around this, I feel like it would be quite a successful racing game if they executed it right and it was a damn shame the sequel to this game got cancelled

Omg das war eins meiner ersten PC Spiele damals und auf Windows XP ging es dann später nicht mehr weiß ich noch und bis ich es vor ein paar Monaten durch Zufall bei Steam gefunden habe weil mir das Spiel irgendwie wieder eingefallen war und ich es erstmal auf YouTube wieder angeschaut hatte dachte ich mir so “vllt ist es ja bei Steam aber denke nicht” und aufeinmal wird’s mir angezeigt AHHHH Ich hab’s zuletzt mit 7 oder so gespielt. Übel toll das dieses Spiel auf Steam gepackt wurde. Der Port ist auch wirklich gut hatte keine Probleme nur wurde mein Xbox One Controller erst nicht erkannt am Anfang was mega komisch war weil ich’s dann erstmal mit Tastatur gespielt hatte und später hab ich’s dann nochmal probiert und dann ging der Xbox One Controller aufeinmal?! War irgendwie Weird Ist immernoch ein sehr Toller Arcade Racer mit Power Ups und 20 Rennfahrer und der 90s Soundtrack gibt mir Ultra Nostalgie Omg
