Honestly I think this sequel is an improvement to the last game, just barely. Some of the puzzles are reused from the last one and the story stil doesn´t really make sense, although it does make more than the firat one... It does have slightly better graphics in my opinion, but when characters talk it looks like some creepypasta. Overall a slight improvemeent from Demon Hunter 1 but still not enough to recommend it, at least not at full price.
Easy HOG, unfortunately no bonus chapter. It's very short: only took me less than 3 hours to play it + get all the achievements. Definitely not recommend buying this at full price for that reason. I bought it on sale with the other parts demon hunter series. - Too short; - Too easy; - No bonus chapter; + polished, everything works properly and is comprehensive; + decent voice acting and art; + relaxing if you're looking for an easier HOG.

Had a fun time with this one. I always enjoy when a series has not only a direct sequel that is related to the previous game's story but also one with the same protagonist. So, with that I guess I will talk about the story first. The game continues the story from the first but after a time. The gameplay is mostly the same, except this time the amulet is now a more prominent part of the game and featured in your inventory as you play. Whereas the first game had you exploring a single location, this game now expands to cover more areas. It's broken up to mostly be you arriving somewhere with a handful of scenes you unlock and explore before leaving and then being given another batch. I kind of don't have strong opinions either way about this, I do like exploring a large map all at once and it makes the locations seem more authentic, but even when every location remains accessible the game tends to have you clearing areas so there is no need to go back to them later. Or, if there is a reason to go back, it's something from very early game that you had forgotten about. The art style is still very I guess "classic-looking?" The first game has this vibe of the 1930s, the year it takes place in, and this is 20 years later, so has a 50s vibe which still leaves both of them feeling very retro. The voice acting is also still kind of cheesy, but I love it and the style nor voice acting bothered me. The puzzles and hidden object scenes are very standard, nothing really stood out to me as being either particularly innovative or challenging. But that's fine, and a lot of times these games are more "comfort food" for me than looking to test my skills, though I welcome more difficult puzzles if the game has them. This game doesn't have a bonus adventure either, like the first game, but like the first game as well, this one has collectibles for you to find too if you want to achievement hunt. There is no difficulty requirement either for the achievements so you can also play it on a lower difficulty if you want to be able to check the map for locations with action and be able to see the visual hints for hidden object scenes as well. I found the most challenging achievement to be finishing a hidden object scene in 60 seconds or less, but I was still able to complete that before finishing the game so I didn't have to start a new game and try again. This goes does not have any difficulty-related achievements. This game does have collectibles. This game does not have a bonus adventure. I did not have any technical issues with this game.
Just two years after the release of the first game that birthed this series, Demon Hunter 2: New Chapter is released as a sequel. Lore-wise, it takes place 20 years after the first game. At this point, the main character is in her late 40s, presumably, and already very experienced with her demon hunter work. Let's focus on the good things I found about this game first. The game offers an option for voiceover, which is very nice of a deal considering Artifex Mundi releases horrendous voiceovers for characters sometimes. It's not that they did not deliver, but rather their characteristic did not match the character they play as. This encourages the player to simply imagine than be disappointed with a voice not delivered properly. The characters look quite realistic than usual, too. This makes it differ slightly from its predecessor. Another trait is not one I mostly bring up, but the diary-like, or the journal entry that usually summarizes the story or indicates the main objectives is quite creative to have pictures structured from a detective's POV. I could attest that some games of Artifex Mundi only presents text instead of the way this game portrayed it. Personally, I found the text-only to be discouraging. Demon Hunter 2 encouraged me to use this said journal more than usual, not only to view notes for answering the puzzles, but to also follow the little summary of the story accordingly. The collectibles are also easier to get as they are halved into these "phases" in the story. The achievements are also very easy to finish in one-sitting, doable for a total of 100% run if you simply pay enough attention with the tasks at hand. However, the game did not just sit with the positives. I did notice some of the items are hard to see, both for items on use and collectibles. There are also no indicators for said collectibles. This approach may be troublesome to casual players. Nothing too strikingly noticeable for this game to achieve a rate high for me, in deep consideration of the hidden object scenes, puzzles, and story itself. The storyline feels rushed and it didn't feel as compelling, similar to the first game's situation. There is no extra story as well considering we are 20 years in the future of this lore, all that time gap just feels lost and empty. I believe this review can stress the score of 7.5/10. It can be deemed better than the first game, going so far for me to recommend it. It still lacks a lot but at the same time, covered some of the holes the first game in this installment had. Even so, my almost two and a half hours of gameplay for this game still makes it relevant enough for me to continue playing the series. Though, of course, that time of gameplay is cut short due to its lost opportunity of an extra story.
Rec only cause the character models are hilarious
un po corto
Terrible! Way worse than the first one, plus the following sins: collectibles sans backtracking, no bonus adventure, HOG scenes that don't contain the thing you receive, mandatory iCloud signin on Mac. The whole thing is just a shade over two hours also, Don't bother with this or indeed anything from Brave Giant.
