About

Democracy 3 is the work of a single developer, Cliff Harris from the UK, an indie games veteran who has been making games since 1997 and programming since he was 11 years old. Cliff gets some 'help' from his cats, but frankly not much...Sums Steam only; GOG publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
Each game feels like a 50/50 shot saving a country or being assassinated by the capitalist elite. Basically how I figure it would be being a leader who actually tries to do good.
Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it upon the earth as water.
Its got decent mechanics and tools.

You need to mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of this since the author clearly aims to make lib-left views seem "the right way to do everything". Also voter groups are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ extremists - capitalists are ayn randian madmen, poor people want the rich to suffer, rich want the poor to suffer. Everyone hates each other. Religion hates science m'lady *tips fedora while ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ self* Not a good political simulator, a semi-decent "mod it till it breaks" dystopia creation kit
First saw this game played bye some youtuber or another. My first reaction is "why play this", and yet I watched several videos. Then I suddenly owned it and the first time I started it I though "this was a mistake, I will get tiered of this in an hour..." And yet I've played for 30h. It is overwhelming yet simple, easy at its core yet difficult as you explore it, repetative yet still entertaining. This is a game that I love despite of myself
This is a fairly bog standard policy-implementation strategy game with not too much real depth to it. It generally rewards careful planning, and the way changing how much you spend on certain institutions can affect the other statistics of your nation is actually pretty advanced and mechanically interesting. Austerity almost always decreases your approval rating by some amount, as it should do. It's pretty fun for a few hours but I just found myself getting bored of it. There's only so much you can tinker around with, even with the 3 DLCs that come with the collector's edition. The political side of it is far more tame. There's not lobbying, external donors, collective cabinet responsibility... Hell you can't even campaign at all (not without the electioneering DLC) and there's no way to tackle your opposition party head-on. I feel like with some more features and more genuinely interesting gameplay mechanics this game could be really good, but as it stands now... It's fine. Definitely wait for a sale on this one.
near endless replayability and highly modable. Easy to learn, medium challenge to master
