For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. Picked this game up on a whim not expecting much, loaded it up and 6 hours just flew by. It's not too complex, but there's enough variation in characters and builds to keep things fresh for a little while. I'm really enjoying it so far, highly recommended for its price!

This is a mostly competent Vampire Survivors knockoff. Play sessions can be much shorter, ranging from 3-20+ minutes instead of mostly 30+. Some starting weapons do not feel useful enough to facilitate survival, and maximum movement speed is still quite slow. I've only just unlocked the 3rd area - Atlantis Lab.
A very fun, simple, and addictive survivor-like.
Defend Earth: Xenos Survivors takes a familiar survival-action formula and places it within a large-scale science-fiction conflict where humanity faces overwhelming alien forces. The core idea is immediately recognizable for anyone familiar with survivor-style roguelites: enter dangerous battlefields, survive increasingly aggressive enemy waves, gather upgrades, and slowly evolve from a vulnerable soldier into a devastating force capable of clearing entire screens of enemies. While the genre itself has become heavily populated with different titles, the game's focus on military themes and extraterrestrial warfare gives it a different flavor compared to fantasy-heavy alternatives. The game's setting creates a stronger sense of urgency by presenting humanity in a desperate struggle against invasion. Rather than battling skeletons, demons, or mythical creatures, players find themselves fighting alien armies across environments that resemble real locations under attack. This shift in presentation changes the atmosphere considerably. Defending cities and landscapes threatened by massive extraterrestrial forces creates a more direct sense of conflict. The world feels like a battlefield where survival is tied to preserving what remains of human civilization, and that theme helps give the game a stronger identity. Combat follows the expected structure of the genre while introducing enough variation to remain engaging. Weapons attack automatically, allowing players to focus on movement and survival rather than aiming manually. As enemies continue appearing in larger numbers, positioning gradually becomes more important. Early stages often involve careful movement and avoiding danger, but progression eventually transforms players into increasingly destructive combatants. One of the most satisfying elements of survivor-style games is watching a weak starting character slowly become an unstoppable machine of chaos, and Defend Earth: Xenos Survivors embraces that progression loop effectively. The range of available weapons, abilities, and upgrades also contributes significantly to the overall experience. Different combinations can change the way a run develops, encouraging experimentation and adaptation. Rather than relying entirely on a single approach, players can discover builds that focus on overwhelming firepower, survivability, area control, or different combinations of offensive tools. Much of the enjoyment in roguelite games comes from finding unexpected synergies and watching them evolve into something powerful, and the game appears to support that process throughout repeated play sessions. Ultimate abilities also add another layer to combat by creating moments of dramatic escalation. During periods where enemy pressure becomes overwhelming, these abilities can completely shift the situation by unleashing devastating attacks against large groups. They create a satisfying balance between tension and release. Survivor games often push players into increasingly dangerous situations, and having powerful tools available creates rewarding moments where the battlefield suddenly swings back in the player's favor. Progression systems outside of combat provide additional reasons to continue returning after individual runs end. Unlocking new agents, skills, and upgrades gradually expands available options and creates a sense of long-term advancement. Successful roguelites often rely on giving players reasons to experiment with new strategies rather than simply repeating identical routines, and these progression systems help support replayability by continuously opening new possibilities. Visually, the game adopts a three-dimensional presentation that helps separate it from many other entries in the genre. Instead of relying on retro-inspired pixel art, environments and battlefields aim for a more modern science-fiction appearance. The larger environments and futuristic military themes fit well with the idea of defending humanity against alien invasion. Massive groups of enemies moving through battlefields create moments where the scale of combat becomes one of the game's strongest visual elements. However, some limitations become noticeable when looking beyond the core gameplay loop. Players familiar with larger or more polished titles within the genre may notice areas where content variety and overall refinement feel more limited. Certain progression systems, balancing decisions, and technical issues may occasionally interrupt the experience. While the foundation itself remains enjoyable, there are moments where additional polish and expanded content could strengthen the game further. Even with those concerns, Defend Earth: Xenos Survivors succeeds because it understands what makes survival-action games entertaining. It delivers escalating action, satisfying progression, and the enjoyable fantasy of surviving impossible odds against endless enemy forces. Rather than trying to completely reinvent the genre, it focuses on building a familiar experience with a science-fiction identity that helps it stand apart. For players looking for a survivor-style roguelite that replaces magic and fantasy themes with futuristic weapons, military combat, and alien warfare, Defend Earth: Xenos Survivors provides an entertaining and rewarding experience with enough customization and progression to encourage multiple runs. Rating: 8/10
I enjoy the game but it looks more like a bunch of animals escaped from a zoo together with some angry bikers instead of an alien invasion. I hope the enemies are just placeholder models but I doubt it. The 3rd map feels underwhelming since enemies can't figure out how to get around walls. Either fix the pathfinding or remove all the walls on this map. It feels more like you're hunting the aliens instead of them being a threat to you.
Fun, colorful game. Gets pretty easy quickly but it's a good time.
Really good so far but does appear they are still working on it. Very happy with the game for only three dollars. Better graphics than most bullethell.
