About
Deck and Conn is a retro-inspired, single-player turn-based tactics game where you command a Cold War-style nuclear corvette — in space. Set fifteen minutes into the future of 1989, the game blends pixel-art aesthetics with tactical depth, drawing from classics like early MicroProse titles and the original Super Star Trek mainframe game.
Lead your crew through an endless war in deep space. Respond to distress calls, upgrade your systems, capture enemy ships, and rise through the ranks. Each decision you make — from combat strategy to crew management — shapes your ship’s legacy.
Whether you're navigating a full dynamic campaign or facing tightly designed standalone missions, Deck and Conn challenges you to survive, adapt, and command with precision.

This is really really good if you love *operating* your starships, not just flying them. It's a little frustrating that you can't save mid-patrol at the moment, but as that's listed as the next major feature on the roadmap, it's only a minor speedbump for now. Did I mention that it's really really good?
Fun but surface level, no saving in mission and missions can take quite a while depending on how you do it (i opted to go rather quickly) ship customisation is limited and i cant recomend it in the current build, HOWEVER it is still 1.0.0 so i would expect some changes to the game coming.

A fun, light-weight starship simulator, best played in short sessions over a cup of tea. No, it's not the deepest experience you'll ever have, but it's atmospheric, a decent modern take on an ancient genre. and absurdly cheap, so just give it a go.
Firstly, I don't believe the lack of a save system is really that big of a detriment to the game and I believe the mixed rating due to all the negative reviews for this one issue is unfair. The core loop of hunting down enemy vessels is simple and straightforward and you really lose nothing if you have to abandon a run in the middle. I love this game. The game is a little obtuse and not particularly well documented (it's not terribly complex however), but once you figure it out it is an absolute joy to fire up your starship and then set off into the black to hunt down the enemies of the UEC.
Lovely little game with really nice systems in place that needs more mission variety and content to be the whole package. Only major let down is lack of saving during a patrol. https://youtu.be/JdH3VbMTDYI
I was looking forward to this game a lot. Highfleet and a lot of late 2000's roguelike influence. Unfortunately the lack of content doesn't justify buying it at any price. It's the same mission over and over, with one ship that you can fully upgrade after two missions. The actual systems are also a drag. There is no tension, all the enemies die easily, there is no resource Burdon and things like jumping between systems is an absolute drag. There is literally zero quality of life in this game and it makes you dread doing even basic actions like FTL.} The lack of smooth transitions between systems is also extremely jarring and feels bad. You have to wait 2 minutes for the space ship to stop start move across the screen every time you want to go anywhere(and you do this CONSTANTLY to FTL). There isn't a game here, there is a University course UI design with some systems to show it off (although most of the interactive design doesn't really work on any screen beyond the main one). on-boarding sucks, as you have to point and click adventure click EVERYTHING to figure out what anything does, as the tutorial tells you nothing. I would be inclined to say that this game feels like a scam. Every single system is extremely slow, you play a couple of missions not having fun, waiting for it to open up and by the time you realise there is literally no content, you're past the 2 hour threshold like it was perfectly designed to trick you past that window.
can't recommend, the gameplay is good but I've played two patrols and had both of them crash mid way through. there is no saving so I essentially wasted two hours of my life.
I'm enjoying it. I like to see and support games like this. I'm hoping the campaign opens up more; I'm on patrol 6 and I've maxed out my outfitting. So far, my choices have really only been direct upgrades for ship components rather than specialized roles. I may not have played long enough to see it though. A few things though, I'd like to see an ability to see what special rewards I have (i.e. career stats), and I'd also like to be able to target empty spaces with my probes.
Very fun old-style spaceship captain simulator. It has checklists to follow for most of the basics and a strategy manual built into the game (!!), but it doesn't explain everything and you have to figure some things out as you go, which is part of the fun. It is annoying that you can't save in the middle of a patrol, but I suspect that's a feature they will add in pretty quickly, since it's a pretty glaring missing thing right now. Overall, well worth the price to me.
love it! it's fun, assuming you like a bit of procedure in your space battles. scratches a very particular itch, which i love. devs, if you're reading this, please continue to add more content! this is a great game, but you know what would make it even better? MORE!
