About
Deck and Conn is a retro-inspired, single-player turn-based tactics game where you command a Cold War-style nuclear corvette — in space. Set fifteen minutes into the future of 1989, the game blends pixel-art aesthetics with tactical depth, drawing from classics like early MicroProse titles and the original Super Star Trek mainframe game.
Lead your crew through an endless war in deep space. Respond to distress calls, upgrade your systems, capture enemy ships, and rise through the ranks. Each decision you make — from combat strategy to crew management — shapes your ship’s legacy.
Whether you're navigating a full dynamic campaign or facing tightly designed standalone missions, Deck and Conn challenges you to survive, adapt, and command with precision.

Really nice game
Could do with a bit of polish on the tutorials indicating where certain controls are (It took me an embarrassingly long time to find the MAGS switch. Also did not realize you could not change the target of a missile after charging and blew away a merchant. Ultimately died to a much larger ship I SHOULD NOT have picked a fight with. Rip Eagle, you were a good ship. Because this game intends to be rough and unpolished, all the above may be intentional design decisions. If so, it's all functioning as intended and the clunk is part of the charm. I do hope the dev is successful enough to expand on what's here. I'd like to be able to move up in ship class (if I can't already) and do more mission types (I survived three and a half patrols, there may already be more mission types) and see more upgraded equipment. I did manage to max out my ship (that I could see) in three hours or so. All in all, I've had a lot of fun and would just like more if the developer is willing.

positive critical· bar length = how often the theme comes up
Disclaimer: This review is purely subjective and I am fully aware that there are people who will disagree with me. I know that the playtime indicator is ridiculously low, but I did play longer (offline), albeit not by much. Honestly? I love it. All the criticisms of the negative reviews are absolutely valid, yet somehow I don't mind them. At all. I enjoy the game loop. I enjoy the setting and the minimalistic content. The whole thing is exactly what I expected and wished for. A lot of that is, addmittedly, because of nostalgia, but that made me buy the game in the first place, so I feel satisfied. That being said: I hope the dev does address some of the aforementioned concerns, because they would make the experience better for most players. But all in all, that's not a reason for me to give the game a thumbs down. For me, its a great throwback to EGA Trek and my childhood. And that is a good thing. In the end, I can wholeheartedly recommend the game, under the caveat that people should take account all reviews and be fully aware about what the game is, and what it's not.
fun game. if you liked Armor Commander 2 you'll like this
It's a good little space sim without nearly enough content to justify playing it beyond one patrol. It's got some fun little missions, a cute UI, and decent UX. It's got a combat loop that's simple but tense enough and fun, and you can engage more and larger ships than you using your special tools and good ship handling. I like it a lot for that reason. But there's also a lot missing. It's a forever war but there's no real story or lore for it, and I wish there was. There's a campaign but the campaign isn't all that interesting because it's 8 repeats of the same general section. The Manual and missions imply a universe I'd love to see explored more. I wish there was more content in general, too. We're basically a Merchant Raider, IN SPAAACE. It sucks that we're never raiding shipping, or attacking the orbital stations or doing anything too interesting! I ultimately recommend it, because what's there is good, and the only way the devs will bother adding more is if their hand is forced by microprose, and getting good reviews. There is precious little here, but what is here is quite good
I don't do reviews very often. But this game is just sublime. I know it wont be for everyone, but all my boxes are ticked!
Fun to figure out. A mix of 688 and Das Boot (old game). Currently has too few mission types, but fight is already interesting. Energy management, signals and different weapon focus. Currently is slightly buggy, but otherwise great fun for this price. Keep up the good work and give us more mission types.
Yep... it's MicroProse. If you like most of their old games, you should like this. Back in the day you would get a much needed manual. So, for a more current alternative I suggest watching the most Bob Rossian of Let's Players to quickly get started.
Feels unfinished. Very slow animations too.
