Death Must Die

kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥. way too many powerups with way too little control over them.

Right now I'm writing a review to counteract some of the negativity going around right now. Even in it's current state, this game is one of the best hordelikes on the market. It has clean art, fun gameplay, and a lot of customization. It's story and characters are meh at best, but it's also not trying to be a narrative experience anyways. It's not exactly a groundbreaking masterpiece, but it's far more polished than most of it's competition. Most of the negative reviews right now are not about the game, but about how slow development has been. I don't think this is fair. While the devs could absolutely be more communicative, their last post pretty explicity states they are doing some major reworks and we should wait until mid-late 2026. While I would say that the date of writing this has entered that timeframe, it's far too early to start crying "abandoned game." I would wait until October with no updates before that.

Probably my favorite game in this genre. Hopefully there's more content coming and more purchases in the future too to fuel that. I would perhaps only want a mode that is a bit shorter session than 20 mins. Also played this before buying it myself for many hours.

An excellent survivor-like with good pacing, great artwork, interesting characters, and good build variety. Very addicting. Highly recommended.

Das Spiel hat definitives Suchtpotenzial. Die Kombination aus spielen und looten bewirkt einen Sog aus Faszination und Entspannung. Hier und da sind noch einzelne Bugs im Spiel vorhanden, was aber dem momentanen Stand der Spieleversion nichts negatives zum Spielgefühl beiträgt. Auf längerer Dauer sollte sich ein Übersetzerteam daran setzen, eine akzeptable ins deutsche zu übersetzende Sprache in Augenschein zu nehmen.
