troll game
It's fine, pretty simple and reminded me of the Flash Games I used to play. The only thing I will complain about is a bug when you get the grenade, if you throw the grenade and leave the screen the game crashes (it crashed my whole computer on one occasion).

Death Leak is a brief but distinctive 2D action-adventure that blends shooting, platforming, exploration, and dark storytelling into a deliberately compact experience. Developed and published by Jay Bee, it follows a warrior who awakens after being stabbed and left for dead during a massacre that has devastated his village. From that grim beginning, the objective becomes a mixture of investigation, survival, revenge, and escape. Rather than spending a long time establishing its premise, the game places the player directly into the aftermath and allows the mystery surrounding the tragedy to unfold through exploration. The setting is one of the strongest elements. Death Leak presents a cursed and violent world where environmental details contribute heavily to the narrative. Notes scattered throughout the journey provide additional information, while ruined surroundings and disturbing imagery reinforce the feeling that something terrible has occurred. Subjects involving death, murder, suicide, and graphic violence make this a noticeably bleak adventure. The storytelling is relatively restrained, allowing players to piece together events rather than relying on lengthy conversations or cinematic sequences. Combat distinguishes itself through a twin-stick-inspired control approach centered on throwing knives. Movement and aiming need to be handled simultaneously, particularly when enemies begin filling areas with dangerous projectiles. Dodging therefore becomes just as important as attacking. Platforming is integrated into these encounters, creating situations where positioning, movement, and accurate attacks all matter. It is a simple foundation, but the combination gives the action an arcade-like rhythm and keeps the player engaged during the game's short runtime. Exploration introduces some Metroidvania characteristics without turning Death Leak into an enormous interconnected adventure. Players can search environments, locate notes, discover upgrades, confront enemies, and gradually uncover more information about the massacre. Ability improvements provide a modest sense of progression and encourage investigation beyond simply moving toward the next objective. The structure remains approachable because the world is not overloaded with complicated systems or excessive backtracking. The limited scale is both an advantage and a drawback. Death Leak can potentially be completed in roughly an hour, depending on how thoroughly the player explores. This allows the experience to maintain momentum and prevents its mechanics from becoming repetitive. At the same time, players expecting a substantial Metroidvania campaign may feel that the adventure ends before its combat, upgrades, and world have reached their full potential. More enemy types, locations, abilities, and opportunities to experiment with the core mechanics could have provided additional depth. Visually, the game embraces the character of a small independent production rather than pursuing elaborate technical presentation. Its dark environments and violent imagery support the oppressive atmosphere, while the overall aesthetic gives the adventure a handmade personality. Sound complements the threatening environments and helps the combat feel more immediate. The presentation may lack the refinement of larger productions, but its cohesive tone is more important to the experience than graphical spectacle. There are 13 Steam achievements, giving completion-focused players additional objectives beyond simply reaching the conclusion. The short duration makes pursuing achievements relatively manageable, although players primarily interested in long-term progression will find limited content here. Death Leak works better as a concentrated experimental adventure that can be experienced in one sitting than as a game intended to occupy dozens of hours. Steam Deck compatibility is not officially rated by Valve on the Steam store page, so the game should be regarded as having an Unknown or unverified Steam Deck status rather than being officially Verified or Playable. Its controller-oriented twin-stick gameplay appears conceptually suitable for handheld controls, but an official compatibility badge should not be assumed. Players intending to use a Steam Deck may need to experiment with compatibility settings or controller configuration depending on their setup. An interesting aspect of the project is its technical background. It was created by a solo developer using C++ and DirectX, with irrKlang used for its sound implementation. That independent foundation helps explain both its modest scope and its unusual personality. The result feels more like a focused personal project built around a specific combination of mechanics and atmosphere than a commercially standardized action game. Death Leak ultimately offers a concise mixture of mystery, knife-throwing combat, projectile avoidance, platforming, upgrades, collectible notes, and light Metroidvania exploration. Its biggest weakness is simply that there is not enough time for all of these ideas to develop substantially. Nevertheless, the absence of unnecessary filler means that the adventure remains focused throughout. As a free, short-form indie experience, it offers an interesting excursion for players who appreciate dark settings, unconventional action mechanics, and games that can be completed without a major time commitment.
