About
The realm of Aethos lies corrupted. The legendary Dawnbringer has vanished into the twisted lands of Umbris. A desperate plea has gone out to all who will defend Aethos in its final stand against the tides of darkness.
Will you answer the call out of duty as a noble Knight? Bring your lust for battle as an unstoppable warrior? Deploy your sharp mind as a cunning rogue or any of the other classes available in Dawncaster? Your choices will determine not just your survival—but the fate of a world desperate for salvation.

Create your character, then level up and choose the talents that define your approach. Specialize in one area to overwhelm enemies with focused power, or diversify your strategy to withstand any threat - the choice is yours, for better or worse…

In Dawncaster your strategy is always subject to change. Add, alter, copy, upgrade or remove cards as you progress and try to go toe-to-toe with the perils of Aethos. Adapt, develop or fall victim to the challenging encounters designed by veterans of the cardgame genre.

Discover the fate of the missing Dawnbringer, and the tragic history of a realm caught in the struggle between light and darkness. Find the twisted roots of its troubles and vanquish it through strategy, foresight and perhaps a bit of luck.

This is a great fun, highly replayable deckbuilder. Right up there with SLAY THE SPIRE.
It might be worthwhile to add the option to save your run after completing a boss. Starting ALL the way over from the beginning of the game each time is frustrating, and a weakness of the genre.
This is the closest ive seen a video game get to replicating the feeling of playing Magic the Gathering, without the discomfort of playing Magic the Gathering

Will add more, great card game
One of the best deck building RPG games I've ever played. Lots of different cards, classes, skills. My go to game.
Super !!!
yes.
Generally solid. Loads of lore and story, sticks to the card battler roguelike formula without reinventing the wheel by keeping the good from the formula and having enough of its own identity to be fresh. An absurd amount of content which feels a little overwhelming at first, a touch more guidance on the core story would have been nice but the freedom to chose your route is hardly a con. Similarly a large roster of classes and weapons feels a bit much but is hardly a con. Thankfully turning on the excessive amount of expansion cards is optional as just the core set is a big pool as it is. You have a good amount of control on the RNG and can generally decide your build from the start. While I appreciate control over the RNG it may give a little to much, but considering the insanity of some of the higher difficulty encounters and endgame content that control is needed if you want to dive deep. Solid challenge, good variety, both with the story mode and the boss rush dawnbringer mode. Balance is slightly questionable, the exhaustion mechanic is a bit of a sloppy bandaid to prevent infinite combos but it gets the job done. Overall would recommend, it wins out on story and raw content over most of its competitors, but is sort of middle of the pack mechanic wise.
