Augfenwischerei.

Date Z is a narrative-driven adventure developed by Mass Creation and published by We Dig Games that merges high school romance, mystery, and apocalyptic tension into a single branching story experience. At first glance, it presents itself as a dating sim set during a typical senior year, but beneath that familiar structure lies a darker premise: a mysterious virus is spreading through the school, and time is running out. The player takes on the role of a transfer student whose primary objective—at least on the surface—is to secure a date before the week ends. However, as the days unfold, social interactions and romantic pursuits intertwine with increasingly ominous discoveries about the outbreak and the secrets buried beneath the school grounds. The game’s foundation is built on choice-driven storytelling. Dialogue options, exploration decisions, and character interactions all influence how events unfold. Rather than offering a linear narrative, Date Z branches in multiple directions depending on player input. Relationships with five distinct romanceable characters form the emotional core of the experience. Each character has a defined personality, personal conflicts, and their own connection to the larger mystery. Developing trust, making the right conversational choices, and prioritizing certain interactions over others can unlock different storylines and endings, giving the game considerable replay value. Beyond its romance elements, Date Z incorporates investigative components that elevate it beyond a standard dating simulation. The school setting gradually reveals hints of something more sinister. Hidden areas, references to its construction over a former military site, and cryptic discoveries contribute to a layered narrative that blends teen drama with science fiction and survival themes. As the virus spreads and tension rises, lighthearted social scenes are punctuated by darker revelations, creating a tonal contrast that defines the game’s identity. One of the more ambitious features is its handling of timeline manipulation. The story introduces mechanics that allow events to shift or replay under different conditions, enabling players to experiment with choices and observe alternate outcomes. This reinforces the theme of consequence and invites players to piece together the full scope of the narrative through multiple playthroughs. Rather than simply unlocking different romantic endings, players can uncover new plot threads and hidden context about the virus and its origins. Visually, Date Z embraces a stylized, comic-inspired art direction. Characters are illustrated with expressive designs that emphasize emotion during dialogue-heavy sequences. The environments—classrooms, hallways, hidden corridors—are rendered in vibrant detail that contrasts with the increasingly grim undertones of the story. The art style supports both the lighthearted dating elements and the darker mystery components, allowing the tone to shift fluidly without feeling disjointed. The pacing of the game is structured around the passage of in-game days. Each decision affects how time is spent, whether pursuing a particular character, investigating strange occurrences, or uncovering environmental clues. This structure adds a strategic layer to relationship-building and story progression. Players cannot see every event in a single run, encouraging replayability for those interested in exploring alternative narrative paths. However, the ambition of blending genres can sometimes result in uneven balance. The dating sim elements and the outbreak mystery occasionally compete for narrative focus, and the shift between romantic comedy and escalating crisis may feel abrupt for some players. Additionally, while player choice is central, the impact of certain decisions may not always be immediately clear, which can either enhance mystery or create confusion depending on perspective. Ultimately, Date Z stands out as an ambitious hybrid of dating simulation, visual novel, and mystery thriller. Its strength lies in the interplay between character relationships and a gradually unfolding conspiracy. For players who appreciate branching narratives, replayable storylines, and character-focused drama set against a tense backdrop, it offers a distinctive experience. While not without pacing challenges, its commitment to player agency and genre fusion makes it a notable entry in narrative-driven indie games. Rating: 6/10
MAKING PLANS FOR SATURDAY NIGHT! LETS HAVE A RIDE, I'LL LET YOU DRIVE! GOT THESE SHOES WITH NOTHING TO LOSE! MAYBE IT'S TIME TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU!
Dosyć fajny, amerykański klimat i fajne dziewczyny. No i kupowanie DLC w celu zobaczenia historii miłosnych z poszczególnymi dziewczynami (w grze randkowej!) to już kompletne nieporozumienie.
