It's difficult. I started with Elden Ring and afterward played Dark Souls 1, 2, and now 3—all to 100%. With all the praise I kept hearing about how DS3 is the best by a landslide, I must say: it's not. Let me rephrase that: it's a great game and I had a lot of fun. A few areas are stunning (especially Boreal Valley) and feature great bosses, but many other areas look too similar and miss the unique charm that DS1 and even DS2 possessed. Would I recommend playing it? YES, abso-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-lutely! However, curbing your expectations could help you enjoy it more than I did. Overall, I was probably just let down by my own hype, so maybe I'm just whining :D Ashes of Ariandel was, IMO, the best DLC out of all three Dark Souls games, featuring (for me) the best and most frustrating final boss as well. The Ringed City was stunning to look at, but that was about it; the monsters felt overused and only the final boss stood out. That’s just my personal take, and I won't go into more detail to avoid spoilers! :D
