For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. It's fun! So many layers and elements. Animations could be better however, and roads has to be rounded
Super fun
There are a lot of games on Steam but only a tiny fraction of games has that magic that keeps me interested. Darfall is an excellent example of that, it reminds me of They are Billions, merged with some roguelite/hero/rpg elements. The Good: + big graphical upgrades since early demo + gameplay is fun + replay-ability + several heroes to choose from + each hero has unique skills and perks that let you try a different approach + heroes have talent points players can use to lean towards a specific build (support your workers, go into combat or focus on gathering) + buildings have upgrades, those are actual items you have to craft + good selection of buildings, connected supply so things are not just straight forward + has a familiarity and uniqueness to it + inexpensive + small game size compared to some garbage like d4 taking up 100GB and not even being fun + different map biomes offering different challenges + you can upgrade Tier1 units once you get relevant mats/items making them useful post mid game + devs were very communicative in the year after release, answering questions, being transparent about plans etc. + this is a niche genre and devs managed to create something unique, blend of W3 and They are Billions! + as you expand and grow your army, upgrade your soldiers, soldiers get experience you start to feel more powerful, its really satisfying + music is good, most games have a forgettable music but here I like it, I can recognize the tunes already + The Neutral: ¬ would be nice if devs can figure out to import the look of mountains from campaign to survival randomly generated maps The Bad: - could do with more defensive buildings - maybe could do with a catapult or scorpion type weapons? - difficulty spike is quite high, I think days could be longer a bit so as to give player more time to build, explore especially on lower difficulty levels Sadly game did not achieve massive commercial success so we only got 1 dev left working on it which means updates are likely to be very slow if any.

Its not for me as I was hoping for a game more like They are Billions. However this game is much closer to Warcraft 3 imo. Small armies (max 20) limited building options and small fights. The fights feel mostly like wc3 creeping but instead of another player your competing against time. The campaign is very short and story is not great, but missions take a long time. The primary game mode is about getting the highest score you can on maps. I'm torn, giving a thumbs down because its not for me seems a bit harsh so I'm giving it a thumbs up because I could see a wc3 fan enjoying it.
7.5 out of 10 Pros: - Picture Warcraft 2.5 not as bad as warcraft 2 but not as good as Warcraft 3 - Good storyline and voice acting included - Gameplay and overall game was better than expected Cons: - Felt short I fully explored every map and it took 17 hours but if I was just trying to rush to win and not do the side quest I'd say it would take half that - Kind of copies the warcraft 3 arch - Game play not as good as sc or wc but they are pretty much considered the goat for rts imo - Buildings are apparently made out of swiss cheese
A really cool mix of RPG and RTS elements.
The game is fine, I guess. The economy just feels like crap. I like using the hero to find items and level up, but I can't get past how sluggish the economy feels. I'll give an example of the sluggish economy. The mana orbs require you to explore & kill stuff. To kill stuff, you need some military units. The most basic units costs mana orbs. However, you can also gather bones to convert to mana orb. To do this, you need to build an Alter. To make an alter you need wood harvesting, stone harvesting, Carpenter, and a Stonemason. To operate the wood and stone harvesting, you need workers. These initial workers require all your starting mana orbs. Now, you can explore and harvest bones. Exploring requires some units. Units cost mana orbs. This process happens very slowly and it's about the first 30-40 minutes of each game. Things do get better after the 5th night and your economy starts moving. You go 2+ nights (10 min/night or ~20 min total) without any military units and have to spend those night using your hero to fight off undead (who don't drop orbs). You just zoom your camera out all the way, run your hero to the middle of your little village and wait. You see an enemy coming you click it, kill it, then run back to middle. Repeat this for 20 minutes. The sluggishness gives me time to think about all the similar games I could boot up, but overall it's not a bad game. It's worth $8-$10 maybe.
Abandonware. Do not buy unless heavily discounted. Worth about 5 to 10 dollars. It sucks as it had a ton of potential to be really good. One of those games that should have been popular but just never caught on. It's tragic.
Abandoned by the devs
