Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 18 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Behind the expected ton of facepalm inducing dad jokes lies a game, which suffers from a lot of really bad choices. After some initial enjoyment, all those choices become very apparent, and most of the remaining game feels like suffering through them. Examples include:

No mini-map. This alone should disqualify metroidvanias from the get-go. Here it is particularly bad, because the story ends somewhere near the beginning, but said beginning is very tricky to find. Apologies for not memorizing all areas I passed through.
Inventory management from hell. You can carry only a few items, including quest items, which may randomly be unstackable. However, you constantly find new stuff to carry around, and it is very difficult to tell, what may be useful later.
Poor controls. There is a wide variety of really useful controls, but all of them require some charging. However, charging takes very long, and it is very simple to get attack locked in certain situations.
A laughable quest system. There are 20 side quests, but you can track them only from certain boards that are few and far in between. Was the usual "menu item for quests" too mainstream?
Same for the costume system. You can equip (fine), and see (what?!) your costumes only from spread out wardrobes. Want to check, how many you have collected? Better find a wardrobe then.
A travel system that truly does not deserve the name "fast". Yes, there are certain shortcuts between places, but those are really random, and may still require a lot of running around. Even worse, the really distant places are connected by identically looking totems without any kind of note where they lead. And some of those are placed in the same general area, meaning that it is nigh impossible to tell, which one leads where.
Yes, the game is relatively short. But even then, spending most of the time working against its limitations is no fun!

This not a game, this is a bug fixing simulator. Wow. My first ever bad comment on steam. Congrats. I supported this game when in EA. I played 2-3 hours to the end of that phase. Now after many many years, the game wont progress after the tutorial. You had almost 10 years, bravo for this unfinished game, at least have some dignity and remove it from steam. When I search for a fix, I see a lot people complained about numerous bugs and the only solution for these bugs is editing game files every time. And if you forgot to save, good luck. This not a game, this is a bug fixing simulator.
I've played the game before, it worked fine. Now when i try to revisit the game. I dont have a save so i went to make a new one and when i go to pick a dad, the game crashes. I cant even play so, I hope this gets fixed.
I bought this game when my first child was born and started playing. My kids are older now and both enjoy playing this game with me. They LOVE and laugh when you throw the child through the window to gain a power up. Fun for the whole family! If you are a dad or one in training, then this game is for you. Dad Quest will put you through the platforming paces, comes complete with credit card debt. You get the real Dad experiance.

a metroidvania without a map sucks
Very charming game with an Earthbound level of humor throughout the world. My only real gripe is that there aren't more controller settings/options, or the ability to change the keyboard mapping.
