Follow my curator page for more recommendations!
This is what you get if you mixed COD Zombies with a boomer shooter, bunny hopping included and encouraged! Insanely fun, has 4-player co-op, and it's occasionally on sale for a measly $1 (but I'd say it's well worth the full price of $5 too). It's a shame this went under the radar (the name probably didn't help), I would've loved to have seen this get popular and for the dev to give it some updates or do a sequel. Gianni Matragrano voices the main character (if you've ever seen a Duke Nukem meme that was voiced, it was likely this dude) and he's literally just doing his Duke voice which is great. There's quite a few good funny lines. It also features The Guys, adorable robot companions you can summon hundreds of. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3611582321 There's only 3 maps which is a bit of a shame, but all of them are very fun and well-designed both layout-wise and aesthetically. There's 6 guns that are your usual retro FPS staples (pistol, shotgun, machine gun, rocket launcher, railgun, and sniper rifle) and each can be upgraded ("Hunkify'd") in the same way as you would Pack-a-Punch a gun in COD Zombies. The pistol fires rockets once you upgrade it! Every 5 (I think?) waves the shopkeeper shows up and offers a random selection of 6 upgrades, including one that'll be 50% discounted (when The Guys are available in this, you are required by law to put all of your money into it and get dozens of them). The upgrades are the kind you'd see in a roguelike like rockets firing from your guns if you're jumping, enemies having a chance to explode on death, axe kills give health, trails of electricity follow behind you, etc. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2914277324 Once you reach wave 20-30 the boss portal shows up and remains available permanently until you take it. I've seen it show up around wave 21-22, but other times not until 30. Not sure if it's random or if that was based on the difficulty chosen. There's sadly only one boss, though the fight itself isn't too bad. Bring down its health enough until it becomes invincible and you need to shoot some drones to make it shootable again, all while hordes of zombies are chasing you. Afterward you get a few rewards, a ton of money, and are sent back into the map to try to survive as many (infinite) waves as possible. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the boss portal returns after that (until you start a new match), bit of a missed opportunity to have it available again every 30 waves. As far as negatives go, really my only complaint is that I wish there was more content. Don't get me wrong, for $5 there's already plenty here, I just want more because it's such a fun game. I would've liked if there was a secret gun or some easter eggs of some sort. Also there's like two or three bugs that aren't gamebreaking but a bit of an annoyance, like when you take the boss portal your mouse sensitivity gets set REALLY high until you finish the match, or when you die and get revived some of the weapon/ammo UI goes invisible. It took me about 6 hours to get all achievements, though you can likely do that a lot faster, I wasn't rushing it. For $5 I've already easily gotten my money's worth, and for $1 it'd be a total no-brainer. If you like retro-style first person shooters and surviving waves of zombies, I highly recommend it. I wish it'd get a bit more attention! Side note: This is one of the few games where I'd recommend playing it with the CRT filter enabled (under gameplay settings) since it really boosts the game's colors and aesthetics, of course. Though I would suggest you lower the pixelation strength, I play with it set to 0.25 which I think is a good balance of a e s t h e t i c s and visibility.

COD Zombies with Dusk movement. Great for rocket hopping around with friends.
Honestly its a game, its basically cod zombies. There isnt a lot of variety, but if you can get it on sale and are on the fence about it give it a try.
Not going to lie, this is a must in your library!
