Fun concept and tight controls but there are too many effects to clearly see enemies with enemies also moving through closed doors or being partially being hidden by walls or the environment. It's not an easy game but I enjoy difficult but fair games. However, a rogue lite where enemies and their attacks are difficult to see due to cluttered environments and foreground objects... That is bad game design imho. The game encourages going fast and then punishes you because you cannot properly see enemies or traps. And when you find upgrades, the game also punishes your for using them because taking them with you costs money. I understand that I need to pay for weapons, but why do I have to pay for thr artefact that I found last round? A game should reward you for taking on extra challenges but not punish you for wanting to play with a loadout you enjoy. Don't make me pay for my weapons but rather reward me for not using some of them. The game already does the latter but sadly not the former. You have enough money to use the good weapons but money is THE resource in the game, so the game mechanics actively deter you from using a cool loadout.
.
It is not a bad game But as some reviews say, you get shoot by outside the screen. Reminds me to oldschool browser games from the early 2000s.... there ae many nuances like the controls, the maps, the movement and the overall loadout presentation. Is not for me - I wouldn't say is a roguelike since you will lose the run when you run out of money. Is more like a permadeath - which is not bad thing. Overall, the asking price is a little too high for the product you get.

2D - cool enough game
Cryptark is a twin stick-style rogue-like that blends frenetic action with careful planning to create something really special.
This is very fun roguelike. Originally suggested by TotalBiscuit when it came out. It still holds up very good in 2026.
