Ultrafofura. Um conto infantil sobre os laços que a vida permite criar. Sim, a morte está presente no próprio contexto do jogo, mas não se engane, não há luto, não há tristezas, há memórias poderosas o suficiente para transformar criaturas simples em signos de amor que transcendem os limites físicos da existência. É a coisa mais fofa que já vi nessa porra dessa indústria, muito lindinho... T_T Tirando isso, o combate é estupidamente enfraquecido por claramente anular imputs do jogador, pulos e esquivas, e priorizar sempre o hitbox dos inimigos, isso acontece repetidamente, e como o jogo tem um bossrush mode, esse problema fica mais evidenciado, a única forma segura é reagir aos ataques com enorme antecedencia, o que é no mínimo estranho pra mecanicas como dodge.

Jogo bem tranquilo, jogabilidade boa, mapa gigantesco. Se você perdeu algum animal de estimação recentemente prepara para a emoção vindo. No geral jogo bem divertido
Really good, chill, top-down metroidvania, that doesn't do the annoying things many metroidvanias do. No losing money upon death, no long runbacks to bosses, challenge rooms give you infinite health, you can teleport to the last save point from the pause menu (no need to exploit save&quit), teleporting between save points is instant, you can get in-game help with the post-game cleanup, and there is a difficulty setting. I recently played MIO: Memories In Orbit, and it's the complete opposite. Unlike that game, Crypt Custodian doesn't waste your time. I completed the game 100% on Normal.
This is my first game of the genre, and I really enjoyed the challenge of learning this game and I appreciated the difficulty settings! The combat feels really good, the platforming is fun and feels flowy, and I loved the way the map connected together so well. It's so satisfying to come back around with new abilities and find items, upgrades, and new areas that you couldn't get to before. The map markers came in handy for revisiting these spots. By the end of the game all the upgrades that I worked hard to find felt so rewarding because I was so much more powerful. The different combinations of upgrades can make the combat feel different each time and it helped me stay inspired to keep trying if I failed. The music and atmosphere of each area is amazing. I felt a combination of peace and melancholy making my way through the areas, but the boss/challenge music got me hyped up. I love the cast of characters. Their stories are told so well through the photographs, their interactions with each other, their routines within the world, and the marks that they've left on it. I was really touched by their stories and the overarching story of the game. It really made me think about another side of grief, the idea of our loved ones really being out there worrying about us and watching over us like we are for them. It was creative and heartfelt and while it's told through such a cute world and characters it made me feel deeply. Crouton in particular really got to me because he looks exactly like my cat who has passed on and behaves how I think he would if he had thumbs and the ability to speak English. <3 This game will forever be dear to my heart and I can't wait to replay it on the different difficulty settings and try my hand at the final achievements. I couldn't ask for a better intro to the genre. This game has so much love and care wrapped up in a small package and I can't recommend it enough.
The best game from 2024 and it's not close. The soothing soundtracks, the captivating top down view, the creative and unique enemies and bosses, the NPC's, all are done extremely well. Would recommend to anyone who has played metroidvanias before otherwise, you may have a tough time navigating and backtracking through the world.
