Great game, developers still active and game will get major update soon :)
The latest update has made this game really addictive, been having a lot of fun running through the levels to see all the ways I can approach each one. The AI is kind of dumb at times, but hardly enough to detract from the overall fun of blowing holes in walls and running in blastin'.
I have NEVER seen a game get rugpulled, revived with an update that makes the game objectively worse, and then rugpulled again on all the poor ♥♥♥♥♥ who bought it for the new update.
From "Good" to "Pretty Great" This has been lurking in the Steam VR shadows since 2020, a solid, dependable title that was, well, good. But then, a perfectly functional but slightly less shiny game, got an overhaul update. And let me tell you, "good" just packed its bags, waved goodbye, and made way for "pretty great"! I've replayed it and well.... Seriously, everything feels smoother, looks sharper, and the shooting? Oh, the shooting is so much more satisfying. The destruction mechanics, which were already a highlight, are now even more glorious. It's like they injected the walls with a dose of "please explode dramatically." If you ever wondered what would happen if Rainbow Six Siege had a love child with Tactical Assault VR, and then that child decided to do its own cool, original things, you'd get Crunch Element. The sound design, too, is on point – every crack, every boom, every distant enemy grunt just adds to the immersion. If you've ever had a bad day, just load up Crunch Element and start blasting holes in walls. The destruction is incredibly satisfying, especially when you use it to flank an unsuspecting AI. Nothing says "surprise!" like a wall suddenly disappearing. Co-op Chaos in the Best Way - My buddy and I jumped into co-op, and while we couldn't rustle up a full squad of four, the two of us had an absolute blast. We were strategizing (poorly), laughing (loudly), and already planning our next session. It's truly a fantastic co-op experience. The mission structure now feels so much more cohesive. It flows beautifully, guiding you through the chaos with a clear sense of purpose. The AI is genuinely well-done. They're not brain-dead bullet sponges, and they offer a decent challenge. A few tweaks here and there, and they'll be perfect, but even now, they're solid. That progression system at the end of missions? Chef's kiss! It gives you a real sense of accomplishment and keeps you coming back for more. "Needs Tweaking" Department: Grenades still feel a tad clunky to throw. You'll either nail a perfect arc that lands right in the enemy's lap, or you'll accidentally hit yourself in the face. But when you do get one to land, it's glorious. I just wish they had a bit more "BOOM!" in both visual and sound. Give me more fireworks, people! For some reason, my co-op partner and I had to reconnect twice to get our mic audio working. No settings changed, just a quick "log out, log in, hope for the best" routine. A minor hiccup, but a hiccup nonetheless. We got stuck on an elevator that simply refused to let us off. We went up, we went down, we pondered the meaning of existence from within its confines. It was like a philosophical VR escape room, except the only escape was a mission restart. (And by 'we' I mean my friend.) :) Crunch Element has truly elevated itself. It was good before, but this overhaul has pushed it into "pretty great" territory. If you're looking for a VR game that blends tactical shooting with incredibly satisfying destruction, a solid co-op experience, then strap on your headset and dive in!!
just play tactical assault
New update! It's not dead!
This game is absolutely amazing! It gives the player so many options when looking to breach the compound. I just hope the procedurally generated raids come back so that there is always something new to approach and test your mind. Can't wait to see what awesome new levels the solo dev will be cooking up in the next environment! :)
