This PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥ GAME is so unbalanced. You roll dice when you use your ship to attack. But the consequence is listed as take dmg to your crew and then it will instead dmg your ship. You never know what you are going to get which makes it pointless to read carefully or choose your attacks wisely. So you pretty much send your ship out and hope the dice rolls favorably. the resources are scattered so much you can't really organize ♥♥♥♥ unless this is something you do for a living. the connector pieces don't always work and will say it isn't connected while its being built. the notifications are beyond annoying. there needs to be a key-bind to move past the repetitive messages. i have this on easy and its nearly impossible. ♥♥♥♥ this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game. what prompted me to write this review was i was rage quitting a sandbox campaign and clicked save and the dog water game said game failed and froze. I am going to take a wild guess and say that when i try to load it it will not be able to load. so there goes a few hours down the drain.
This game is great, just the kind of booty I was looking for. I started over about halfway in my first run because I learned a lot and had made a mess of the place. My new city is really smooth sailing now though.
Beautiful game the art is amazing! It can get a little repetitive bur overall a really fun game.
Corsair Cove really surprised me. When the game was released, I expected it to keep me entertained for 10–20 hours. In the end, it was almost 50 hours, and I could easily have stayed in the pirate world even longer. About the game: I’m shocked at how well the game is technically optimized. Much better than the last Anno at launch. Plus, it looks gorgeous. The world is colorful, inviting, and has a great atmosphere. The gameplay mechanics and resource management are challenging and a lot of fun. In my opinion, Corsair Cove is currently the best game in the genre, and I highly recommend it.
Neue Idee.
I have never been much of a city builder fan, but they roped me into this with the verticality building. Bridges, zip lines, elevators, ski lifts going from rock high rise to rock high rise really drives home the pirate haven feeling. a very fun and unique way to build a city. Add on to that the fun of the actual pirating taking place out in the seas (my favorite part) and you've got a successful and fun game that really exploits my weakness for pirate themed media. One of the few who treat it right and not just as a gimmick.
An interesting take on the "genres". City builder + logistics management/factorio-esk + table top card game. I wasn't sure if I'd like it since I'm not big on the latter 2 genres. Luckily they have the demo to help you decide... Played it for a few hours and after getting to a rather early spot, I was already sold. Went ahead and pulled the trigger before I went too far into the demo to where I'd get 'angry' when it ended and I'd have to start over in the actual game(since the demo doesn't carry over, obviously). Had to rebind the camera up/down to space/ctrl to make it feel more fluid. Kinda like noclipping is in most games. Put pause on ` since 1/2/3 are the speed settings. And then cancel auto-connections on C. After that, the game started to feel better since I could move around better. But the camera is my only issue so far. Which, after rebinding, isn't an issue. Now.... if you're in 'free cam' and open the map, it swaps you back to 'anchor cam' and that... is driving me insane. But it's nothing to do with the ACTUAL gameplay. THAT is all good. I haven't encountered any bugs or felt lost... they do a good job at guiding you in the tutorial. And it's not forced/rushed feeling when going thru said tutorial. Easy 9/10 from me. And if they make it where I don't have to constantly flip back to free cam.... 9.5.
