Nice, relaxing and beautiful. After knowing how to play I had to restart my game, because my building placement was... let's say not optimal xD I have second save and I really do not regret restarting. Once you get the idea, building next production chains is incredible satisfying. I recomend it to everyone who likes city builder with twists.
great game and tons of replayability.
This is an interesting city builder, although far from perfect. Graphically it's fine thanks to the pirate theme, though there are no decorations, and I’m never fully happy with how the paths turn out looking. You basically have to "feed" the crews of your pirate ships, where stronger crews demand more complex goods. This is the most interesting and fresh mechanic in the game, but it isn't fully thought through. For example, you can simply dismiss all crews from your ships, dropping the resource consumption of your 1k pirates down to almost zero. The logistics puzzle is mildly interesting, albeit not very intuitive. However, odd balancing ruins a big part of it: you're supposed to acquire key goods through looting, but I always manage to unlock the tech-tree upgrades to substitute those looted goods with self-produced ones long before I actually need to raid for them. Finally, there is the card game that resolves all ship actions, such as battles, raids, and quests. The main problem is that it's extremely simple, boring, and repetitive. As a standalone card game, it would score a 1 or 2 out of 10 — you can't build a deck, you don't even draw a hand, and there is virtually no strategy involved. You almost always just play the single obvious card required. Since this card minigame becomes much more central in the late game, it completely throws off the overall pacing. I still recommend the game, as it brings a welcome breath of fresh air, and I had enough fun to complete all three maps. Just don't expect it to compete with the likes of Anno 1800, Foundation, or Kingdoms Reborn. Maybe pick it up on sale.
Very content rich and a whole load of fun to learn all the mechanics. The turn based objectives are a nice touch and the graphics / artwork / music is fantastic and brilliantly immersive. The only downsides are how tedious it can be to expand your base, if you're missing a resource you have to build a whole new camp, you can't just extend which leads to all sorts of logistical issues which can be very frustrating. In all, fantastic game, brilliant immersion, just needs some tweaks to the camps and QOL updates.
Good game, quite the timemachine since it deleted a full weekend after purchase. Building placement scratches an itch I didn't know I had. Only bug that have occured is minor path connection issues on warehouse connectors that is resolved by save+load. "Talent tree" could use a preview of building costs. Unlocked a few and then realized the costs were too high for the value at the time. Overall great game, go do pirate things but don't pirate this game.
I really enjoyed this game. I got it day one and it took me about 60 hours to finish the main story mainly because I was tackling all of the different professions at the same time and managing all the supply lines for the 5 boats I had got a little crazy but if you enjoy resource management games with logistics being a high maintenance then this game is for you. I also appreciate this being a full game at launch not that I’m against early access games those are great too but being able to sink so many hours into actually beating a game rather than waiting for the next update to continue the story is a nice change of pace. Great job and a great buy!! I hope they come out with some DLC down the road?!!
