Everyone said it was watered down. But decided to try it anyway with some peeps. Everything that made the first game a unique chaotic experience is totally absent. The interesting cutting based physics are gone, the pouring and liquid physics are also gone. If this game was a new plate up game, I think it would be pretty cool. Coming into this with the expectation that you're getting a sequel to the first cooking sim but with co-op is a pretty massive let down.
We were waiting so long for this (Me and my friends and family) as we really enjoyed CS1. We were so sad when we discovered that CS1 had no mods to enabled multiplayer. Thus when we learned that CS2 would be Multiplayer friendly we were extatic. My heart is broken, how could they take a beautiful game such as CS1 and completley change it in a way to make it up to crap?? What's wrong you might ask? Well... no free cutting, sticky movement feeling and just overall bad gameplay. I always say when something isn't broken, don't fix it!!! you could have taken CS1, added the multiplayer option, maybe the resturant idea, added some new recipes and Bob's your Uncle, but no!!! you had to mess it up.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

We were excited to try this game out with my friends. We all live in different locations but servers/ping etc. was never really an issue. UNTIL WE GOT THIS GAME THAT IS. Unfortunately, this game is unplayable in multiplayer and also in multiplayer there isn't any tutorial (?) so we were lost on what to do and how to even open a restaurant to begin with. We were clipping through walls and ceiling which caused us to overseason, underboil and so on. We all refunded the game when were done with the first working day. What a dissapointment
As of the date of this review, I'd call the game completely broken. It has so many bugs, it's unplayable.
Me and my friend were in the middle of a gameplay, we just upgraded to tier 2 kitchen, looked around, awed on the new design and appliances. Had to close the game and after we came back to the same save, the storage room broke entirely. If we try to pick up anything, the game shows you picked up something, but your hands are empty, you can't put down the picked up nothing, and now it seems our save is kind of corrupted because relaunching the save, restarting the game entirely or other methods i've tried, failed to help our situation. The kitchen area is working fine but the storage and every item in it is inaccessible, and ordering new ingredients doesn't help either as they are too unpickable / cannot be put down. Dissapointing. Edit: As my friend tried to host his game being roughly at the same progress, the same thing happened. After tier 2 kitchen upgrade, the storage area turns into a blackhole and as you would pick stuff up, there is nothing in your hand, you can't put said stuff down at that point, and you are wondering where next...
We tried playing with a friend. There were some minor issues because the game was just released. But we're really looking forward to it being optimized so we can play it again.
Cooking Simulator 2: Better Together – Gemeinsam kochen, gemeinsam lachen
NOTE: THEY COMPLETELY SCRAPPED THE FREE CUTTING MECHANIC FROM THE FIRST GAME. I just can't recommend this one. My partner and I were very excited to play this since we both loved CS1, but after trying to play a few times, we're both very disappointed. Ultimately, it's now a mostly worse version of other games that already exist. As mentioned, the staple free-hand cutting mechanic with grading based on your accuracy is completely gone. Cutting is now a boring, busy-work task. They also added a dining room and the need to complete waitstaff tasks, which takes away from the possible scale of the actual COOKING part by demanding you spend time doing something else. They didn't say the game was early access, but with the amount of game-disrupting bugs since release and still in the game now, they should have. Some of the management aspects are neat, and I was initially excited about the custom recipe building idea until I learned how terrible the UI was. I think CS2 has the potential to be a good game one day with a lot of love, and maybe I'll adjust my review when that happens, but for now you're better off playing other diner rush games like Plate Up or Restaurats.
Good god does this game need a TON of work. They gave CS1 fans the multiplayer that they asked for but then removed absolutely everything that made up the reasons that they asked for it in the first place. Maybe those things will come back later? Doubtful. Absolutely everything is clunky, the entire experience feels rushed but also given up on at the same time. Overall very disappointing.
Pros: > Personally, I think the controls are much better than in CS1. I never liked the chaotic physics in CS1 > The recipe editing/creation feature is a great idea > Co-op works fine > In general, it's a really fun simulator that you can spend dozens of hours without overthinking anything > You can play as chilled as you want, so it's cool (or you can tryhard to earn more money) Cons: Buggy. I know it's common in the gaming industry nowadays for games to launch in an almost unplayable state and improve over time, but it's just irritating. In its current state and with its limitations it feels more like an Early Access title Things to improve: > It would be great if we could hide, sort and filter the recipe list for the Daily Menu. Currently it gets messy very quickly. We should be able to hide recipes for which we can't buy the ingredients (or we don't have the ingredients on stock) > Specific customers requesting dishes to be more salty/spicy/sweet would be a really cool addition > More upgrades and more expensive upgrades. Currently they are so cheap you can buy everything within 10-15 hours with only 1 friend > Background sound that doesn't depend on how far you are from the radio
