COCOON

I had high hopes for this game when I saw the art style, and I have always enjoyed games that Annapurna has created. But this one had one major flaw from the start- there was no introductory narrative or exposition that explained what my character was or what they were doing in the game. I just got thrown directly into the game and set loose to wander around and figure out how the game was played on my own. I eventually figured it out and completed the game (enjoying the guardian battles and most of the puzzles along the way), but the lack of background context left a lacking feeling in my head as I finished the game not really sure of what it was that I had accomplished or what the significance of it was. This is a trend I'm seeing become more common these days, unfortunately, with games using really cool-looking art styles to draw you in but don't take the time to explain what the purpose of the game is.

Very short and a bit too easy, but still a good game. The core mechanic of "worlds within worlds" is fantastic and allows for very satisfying puzzles (even if they're too easy). A bit overpriced for its length. Wait for a sale and grab it then.
