Claymores of the Lost Kingdom can, at a glance, seem limited in scope. You will play on the same map every run, and after a tries you will start to recognize some patterns. I really enjoyed playing blind, exploring the map to find good paths and events to get me faster to the goals I've set for the run. It's easy to force a build, since the stats you choose when you level up determines the pool of cards you can recieve. The metaprogression does not increase your power, but it helps you customize your build more. There are no difficulty settings, but some starting choices are much harder to manage early on and there are multiple different endings with increasingly difficult objectives. I wholeheartedly reccomend any fan of the genre giving the demo a try, it does a good job of showing off what the game is about!
Its ok, Not worth the price though.

Usually i'm not that fond of deckbuilders or roguelites, but this game scratches an itch for me anyway. I really like the gameplay so far, the artwork is great and really helps with the immersion for me, as does the music and sound effects. Overall i'm really happy i bought the game as i can see myself putting a lot more time into this than i have so far and it has already been worth the money after 3 hours of playtime for me. Really great work!
I would give Claymores of the lost kingdom a neutral review if I could, because it's not a bad game. It just...isn't great either. At first glance, this game almost looks like Choose your own adventure gamebook (like Fabled lands), but with card battles and light "survival" element with rations. But I don't think it really works all that well after couple of hours. There is not much to the story or rather proper storytelling. At least I didn't feel like I was following a story, rather just doing inconsequential things at random places. What I really miss is the option to see the whole map, see where all the places are, where can I go etc. When you get a quest (which I believe you can have just one at a time), you just blindly follow the marker to some random location, where you get rations as reward, so you can go look for another quest and do the same again. There are random encounters along the way with combat or sometimes other choices, but too often you just aimlessly move from one spot to another. Other thing missing is enemy variety. Enemies in the game are fine, but there is just not enough of them. You just fight the same 5-10 enemies over and over. Granted, they can have different passive skills, but it just feels the same after a while. Which is really sad, because the deckbuilding aspect, or character building in general, is what I like the most about the game. I like character origins, building decks based on your stats allocation, equipment system and card battles themselves, this really works for me. Artstyle is also pretty good. But the game as a whole...After couple of runs it just stopped being fun and started being just pointless clicking. It feels like there is a great game or rather potential for a great game in here. But right now, it's like you had great ingredients and ideas to cook awesome meal and then just put something in the microwave and also forgot to add flavour. It's serviceable and fills you up for a day, but that's about it.
Very Fun Rogue Like. 1 single large map. You Acquire cards for your deck per the 5 different stat types you level up. Not a ton of enemy diversity, but rather they acquire buffs and change their actions depending on their difficulty rating. The whole point of this game is to survive until the end, not necessarily kill the boss. By surviving you gain new character backgrounds and unlock higher trait levels (and I'd assume stronger cards with them) It's a little disappointing how ridiculously strong the final boss is, as you have to decide on an anti-climactic run-away or chance not getting achievements and try killing the boss. Overall, very fun and addicting. Hard recommend for the price point.
first-ever soundtrack I wrote. do try it out and lemme know what you think. cheers!
A fun deckbuilder where leveling your stats unlocks cards. Worth replaying to max each stat/combo to see all the cards. Limited number of baddies (like.. 5?) I am at about 30 hours, and feel done. Final boss is crazy hard vs any other fight in the game. Still a solid recommendation as a StS style deckbuilder with some story and light rpg.
Good game but brutal, is only one dev so ofc there's balance issues but also is mostly because people dont read, while this kind of games are not my thing i liked it enough to have 2h on it , i just gave because of lack of map .
The game is not entirely bad, though I do have some complaints such as the lack of variety of the same repeating enemies and replay value where I wished it to be completely revamped, instead of the jobs and races determining the stats maybe each race has their own unique passive instead of being difficulty based and lowered stats like a WoW class system. But I believe with time this game will improve
The game still needs some love, but I highly recommend it. The main game play loop is fun and challenging. The variety of strategies is enjoyable and makes each run unique. Anyone who enjoys deck builders should give Claymores of the Lost Kingdom a shot.
