Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Jul 25 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Powers divide the continent, growing in power and wealth, city-states rise to prominence through mastery of commerce and trade. These mighty merchant republics rise above their peers from Tripoli to Granada and from Novgorod to Genoa. You are the leader of one of these republics and you will shape the history of one such city-state, bringing it to glory and power - or watch it disappear into the currents of history.
City States: Medieval is a bold continuation of Reverie World Studios' long-standing strategy series, introducing completely new mechanics focused not on continent-spanning empires, but surviving between them as a city-state. The dynamic, unpredictable 12th century Europe and Middle East offers new challenges, while the completely new hero mechanics demand a completely fresh approach to strategy from newcomers and veterans alike.
The city is the heart of your mercantile empire. Plan your expansion and advance accordingly, growing your city through economy, military, faith, trading, and building chains. Do not neglect defense: You are leading a city-state surrounded by powerful kingdoms, who may decide to plunder the city's wealth. Fortifications will be key to defending your city, along with an all-new siege system featuring real-time tactical combat.
Trade is the key to the city's survival. Establish new trading outposts across the known world to gain access to twelve precious commodities, from wool and linen to spices and silk. With every trade route the opportunities expand, bringing with it more wealth and prominence. Each route also makes the city a more attractive target for rival powers, demanding a strategic approach and navigating the treacherous world of politics and warfare of medieval times.
In the age of great men shaping history, your leader is no different. Growing in experience and skill alongside the city, they define how you can react, enabling real-time battles and defense of the city, boosting city growth and construction, or carrying out complex intrigues in foreign courts. Every decision is a calculated risk: Do you send him on expeditions to distant lands to find new markets, leaving the city more vulnerable? Or do you focus on strengthening the home, risking that opportunities will slip away?

I'm at a loss for words. This development team is trying to use a single set of unit skins to cover all eras and themes. And the skins are downright ugly. The infantry ones are barely acceptable, but the cavalry ones are ugly beyond belief – neither authentic nor appealing.

City States: Medieval revolves around building villages into prosperous medieval cities. Players gather resources, construct homes and production buildings, establish trade routes, and maintain a functioning economy. Unlike many city builders, every decision has political and social consequences. The population is divided into distinct classes—including peasants, burghers, nobles, and clergy—each with unique demands and expectations. Keeping one class satisfied may upset another, forcing players to make difficult strategic choices throughout the campaign or sandbox experience. Politics also play a larger role than in most city builders. Taxation, laws, diplomacy, and governmental decisions significantly influence growth and stability, making long-term planning more important than simply expanding as quickly as possible. The economic simulation is one of the game's strongest features. Resources flow through interconnected production chains, requiring players to carefully balance agriculture, manufacturing, commerce, and taxation. Trade becomes increasingly important as cities expand, allowing shortages to be offset through commerce while creating new opportunities for wealth. Financial management feels rewarding, although newcomers may find the many interconnected systems overwhelming during the early hours. Visually, City States: Medieval embraces a clean isometric style rather than photorealism. Buildings are detailed enough to distinguish districts, while expanding settlements gradually develop into convincing medieval cities. The user interface provides a large amount of information, but its density can make navigation cumbersome. Players unfamiliar with grand strategy or simulation games may initially struggle to locate important statistics and management tools. City States: Medieval offers a slower, more methodical experience than arcade-style city builders. Success depends on understanding economic relationships, balancing social classes, and adapting to political challenges rather than simply maximizing production. This complexity creates satisfying strategic depth for experienced management-game fans but may discourage players looking for a more casual building experience. City States: Medieval successfully distinguishes itself from many modern city builders by emphasizing politics, economics, and social management alongside traditional construction mechanics. It rewards patience and careful planning with a satisfying strategic experience where every decision shapes the future of your kingdom. While its interface and learning curve may intimidate newcomers, players who enjoy detailed management simulations such as Banished, Foundation, Manor Lords, or the Anno series will likely appreciate the depth on offer. Stark, echt stark.
Great game, even though the graphics, gameplay and mechanics are out dated its solid . BUT OMG THE CRASHES ARE REALLY DOING MY HEADING!!! you have had the same crashes in the previous games and they still exist even after the update you claim to have fixed.
I do not normally leave reviews, but this is deserved one. This game plays like something from 2003 except the graphics are somehow worse. It is literally a reskin of their last 10 games that have a similar concept. Nothing is new. Nothing is different. All one has to do is look at the developers list of games and the pictures are almost all identical. Requested a refund, because this game does not live up what the videos and pictures promise.
Idee sehr gut, Umsetzung von Grafik bis Lags über Gameplay leider nicht
not bad. But this game absolutely need a sandbox mode
Gioco interessante, ma ha ancora troppe cose da sistemare, il tutorial è buggato rendendolo incompletabile, le battaglie dovranno essere riviste perché noiosette, vedremo nelle prossime release come si evolverà, al momento non lo consiglio.
Cool game! It feels like Age of Empires meets Risk. Looking forward to future updates!
