About

One of 2022’s most acclaimed indies, the Game Awards-nominated Citizen Sleeper is a Tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

Inspired by Tabletop Roleplaying games, Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world. Each cycle you use the dice you are dealt to choose what to do with your time. Make or break alliances, uncover truths and escape your hunters. Survive and ultimately thrive, one cycle at a time, and sometimes against the clock!

The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, trying to eke out an existence among the stars. Salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, street-food vendors, each has a history which brought them here. You choose which of them you wish to help, and together you will shape your future.

Eventually, you will learn to use your dice to hack into the station’s cloud to access decades of digital data, uncover new areas and unlock secrets. This is your unique power, and with it you can change your future. Corporate secrets, rogue AIs and troves of lost data await those willing to dive into the depths of the station’s networks.

Essen-Arp: to them you are just property, one more asset in a portfolio that stretches across the stars. You are the product of an abusive system, in a universe where humanity’s expansion is marked by exploitation and extraction. Escape the makers of your decaying body, and chart your own path in a richly imagined, deeply relevant sci-fi world which explores ideas of precarity, personhood and freedom.

Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.

Each cycle you roll your dice. Assign them to vast range of actions available on the station. With every action, choose what, and who, matters to you, shaping the lives of those around you, and ultimately the future of the station.

Clocks track both your actions and the actions of others across the station. From becoming a local at the Overlook Bar to protecting a friend from Yatagan enforcers, clocks allow you to track your own progress and the influence you have on the world around you.

Follow drives not quests, allowing you to pick and choose the stories and activities that matter to you. As you do, you will shape your character's five skills (Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage), unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect and change how you choose to live in this world.

Citizen Sleeper now includes all three post-launch DLC episodes FLUX, REFUGE and PURGE, which expand the game and introduce additional characters and locations to Erlin’s Eye in an exciting new late game storyline.

Reviews
It's a good game, but I think you have to be in the mood for a slow, pensive experience. The resource management is pretty generous, but I always found myself unsure how and when I should spend them.

A mechanically simple but rewarding and introspective point and click with fantastic art. The pacing peters out towards the end, and you're likely to nearly max out the skill tree if you run to the end of the DLC chapters, but the interesting choices presented remain engaging throughout. Why is the Stray not given more story panels?

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

awesome story game, definitely worth the money if you're interested in cyberpunky universes and/or living out the robotgirl fantasy (poor, constantly breaking down, being hunted down by bounty hunters) :)
Citizen Sleeper is interactive cyberpunk fiction which is not a bad distraction from work or your everyday life. Producing an original twist on the themes of identity crisis, belonging, and subjection; Citizen Sleeper constructs a story that may have need of drama, but makes up for it with intrigue. A gripping cyberpunk story that you will want to explore to become aquainted with every detail. Rated 7 out of 10.
One of the most excellently written games that I have ever experienced. The art, sound-design, and music are all top-notch as well. The idea of a "short RPG-lite" game sounds unusual and certainly precarious to pull off well, but Citizen Sleeper is totally enrapturing for the entirety of its lean playtime. There are so many little story threads and choices to be made, it feels more correct to choose one path for each playthrough, and Citizen Sleeper clearly encourages this play-style as there is an overt lack of any system where you can make multiple saves for a single run, so once you've made a choice you have to stick with it or restart the entire game. This obviously can cut you off from seeing everything that you want to see and from resetting to avoid an unwanted outcome, but the inability to simply reload before a mistake makes our actions as players have real weight. I'm looking forward to when I do eventually do another run of Citizen Sleeper, and seeing as though there is a sequel out currently I have high hopes for that game as well.
An easy recommendation. The gameplay is really in-depth up until the last third of the game. You'll have to manage your resources and time pretty carefully, although you won't really have to worry about your condition unless you're really bad at managing your energy/dice rolls. the stories and characters are extremely well written, and it's gonna make you think about some topics a little more deeply. The late game is unbalanced though. By the time you start on the Flotilla dlc you won't have to worry about resources or time limits. It makes getting to the next mission/storyline a slog because you're just hitting the end day button multiple times because you don't have to hunt for resources anymore. The character portraits are beautifully drawn, and helped me visualize the scenes that are written between them and Sleeper. The actual station and flotilla are 3d models. They get the job done but are little more than rudimentary shapes with flat 2d textures thrown on them. STORY- 9/10. Not really a central story or end goal. There are multiple endings you can choose for your sleeper that vary wildly, and they're all great. GAMEPLAY- 7/10. Starts out really strong but the difficulty takes a huge nose dive in the last third that it makes the game too easy. CHARACTERS- 10/10. So well written and varied that even at the games most tedious I loved talking with the characters and getting to know them. My only gripe is that once a storyline is over you can't go back and just chat/check in with the characters. WORLDBUILDING- 8/10. There's a lot of lore you get to see and figure out, but there's no glossary to go back and read up on info you may have blinked and missed out on. A databook for the characters that helps flesh them out more past their storylines would've been great too! VISUALS- 7/10. The character portraits are great but the 3d station clashed with the 2d art style of the portraits, and subtracted from the experience for me. Maybe they could've paid the artist to do the entire station in an animated 2d style or cell-shading style. Idk just a thought I had. OVERALL AVERAGE- 8.2/10.

Wonderful visual novel disguised as a game. Darkwoke hopecore at its finest. Very uh, diplomatic, let us say, regarding the themes here. Quite the decision to go all in with the non-binary characters and sticking to the bit yet making every single insufferable villain to be black. Don't get me wrong the writing is still good but I guess I just wasn't mentally prepared for the juxtaposition.
