Reviews
It's a pretty unique little horror game with a lot of references to other games and media. I found references to The Shining, SCP foundation, anomaly hunting games, P. T. and probably many more that I knew nothing about. Like the novel King in Yellow, a play that really existed and made people go crazy, so it was banned. The game is taking place in a huge rundown appartment building that strongly reminded me of my favorite appartment levels in the Silent Hill games, except for the strange building in Chrorus of Carcosa actually isn't abandoned. During the game you try to escape from the building and learn a tiny bit about its inhabitants and history. I'm a bit sad how little you could actually learn about the building itself though. The story is focusing on two artists, a sculptor and a musician, who are both slowly going insane from the aforementioned King in Yellow book that is haunting them. You will play as both characters to see their nightmares and descent into madness. The first playthrough with it's dark stealth sequences was super interesting. You constantly felt watched, wanted to read every note, learn as much as possible and always felt like something was lurking around the next corner or behind you. However, the playthrough was very linear and fairly short while the ending didn't explain much of anything. You could kinda decide for yourself what caused these two people to lose their sanity. Was it insect poison, mold or the book itself? I think you were meant to realize their background stories. They were sensitive, had problems with addiction, their families etc. so they kinda fell into an obsession that was also caused by their terrible environment. However, the second playthrough for the couple missing achievements kinda revealed where the game was lacking. It would have been awesome to freely explore the building, have a map, get into more appartments, learn about all the people that were getting killed. The game also was loaded with way too much humor for such a sad story. It was fun and entertaining though. The graphics also looked insane. Get it for a fair price and it's a unique and fun experience. I'd play more games from this dev.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Curti o jogo.
I must say... I LOVE this game!!! The choice of no BGM were great, the sounds, what were played instead were horrifying and the visualisation of the madness were well done!! I may not have finished the book of Robert W. Chambers yet, but I can already say, he would be proud to have inspired such a great game, that is way more horrifying than any of his stories in the book I had read till now. (lil funfact, I thought of the story "The Mask" more of a romantic one than a horror story, even if it is a bit... let's say strange... and the stone skulpures reminded me on that story) The puzzles sometimes need a little bit to crack (even if there are not that many in this game that were meant for a playthrough of 2-3 hours) but there are always hints near of each one of them, so nothing impossible. And that I love too XD Only one thing I have to critic (well two, but my english is good ((I am german)), so I had no problems playing and understanding it). and it contains a bit of a SPOILER, so I black it out:
the skulpturer (main character) went way to fast into madness during the last minutes of the game, from "I have to escape, I have to stay sane" to "give me thorns on my crown, I AM KING!!" in mere minutes of gameplay. it felt like way to rushed, even the short "composer" story part were made more plausible and felt like she slowly spiraled down in months, slow and steady. He just resists, resists and BOOM!! craycray
So, after my little critisism, I still say, that I will deffinetly stream that game someday in the future (I have something nice for it in mind) and hope my fellowship will love this game as much as I do! And for the end of this, I want to repeat the last lines of "The Repairer of Reputations": "Ah! I see it now!" I shrieked. "You have seized the throne and the empire. Woe! woe to you who are crowned with the crown of the King in Yellow!" [EDITOR'S NOTE.--Mr. Castaigne died yesterday in the Asylum for Criminal Insane.]
TERRIBLE story line with nonsensical dialogues. Started decent and then made me regret my time spent around 1 hour in.
A nice short horror game for those who enjoy some Lovecraftian stuff, especially if you are a Hastur/King in Yellow simp like me. Only frustrating part were the statue enemies that needed a better use of a checkpoint system
10/10 game, played it while sitting with some friends and we genuinely laughed so hard at parts we cried. I have no idea if it was supposed to be a comedy but god was it funny.
Starts fine, but gets really tedious to play after an hour or so.
