Наверное кто любит красивый визуал без наполнения внутри, игра понравиться. Геймплей очень душный, как и загадки на уровне напряги одну извилину до уровня что за жесть, что так же душит. Те кому понравился layers of fear игра возможно и понравиться в остальном не советую, кроме пары красивых сцен, тут нет ничего. Посмотрите лучше хороший артхаус фильм, чем сыграть в плохую игру с намеком на что-то высокое, чем игра и пытается быть.

Хороший психологический и шизовый хоррор. Ощущается довольно Лавкрафтово, и после игры хочется почитать Короля в желтом, т.к. сюжетка сделана на основе этой книги)) Во первых красивый и приятный графоний для инди, пугалки присутствуют, жуткие звуки прям класс. Происходящее в сюжете очень странное и не всегда поддается объяснению, но все так и должно быть. Игра где-то на 3,5 часика. Рекомендую? Рекомендую.

Recentemente comecei a ler O Rei de Amarelo, então decidi comprar esse jogo que é 100% inspirado nele. O jogo complementa o livro muito bem, com referências e possuindo a mesma "vibe" de loucura, decadência e arte. O enredo também legalzinho e combina com os contos do livro, mas nada extravagante. As únicas coisas que, para mim, puxam esse jogo um pouco pra baixo é a atuação de voz medíocre do protagonista e a simplicidade dos momentos de terror. Mas dá para tolerar as duas, principalmente a jogabilidade que, embora simples e clichê, ainda funciona e dá um medin às vezes. Em suma, se você já leu, está lendo ou se interessa em ler O Rei de Amarelo, esse jogo pode te fazer entrar mais no clima. Caso contrário, é só mais um jogo simples de terror que dura 2 horinhas.

I've played the demo for this game with no trouble, but no matter what I do I just can't get the main game to actually work! The buttons on the starting screen won't register the location of my mouse, so I can't even click on my settings or new game; the starting screen is overblown, so I can only see 25% of the top left corner, and the game makes my computer feel like it's trying to move through molasses! I've checked for updates, uninstalled and reinstalled, even asked on the discussion page for help but I'm sad to say, it's just not playable for me. Disappointing because I was really looking forward to streaming this game.

For a game with Carcosa in the name, it certainly features less of it than the short mention it's based on in the book by Chambers... It would have been acceptable weren't for the aforementioned place not being in the game or barely seen, although I understand it wouldn't have been easy for an indie team to depict Carcosa in a game, whatever it may have looked like in Chambers head if at all, but then again, they chose the name and considering that The Yellow King is a prominent book here, I do believe that this was the intention. The voice acting is, in my opinion, one of the worst offenders, with dialogue that makes no sense and a character that insists on shouting every 20 seconds. There's a huge rely on crude language and crude imagery spread throughout the building in the form of graphity and I admit that every time I see any kind of emojis, smiley faces, crude language painted on walls, in any game, I pray that Hastur himself comes and rips my soul out of my body. These things are technics to make the game seem more "mature" and they fail, every single time and always will, but, back to the voice acting; the game would have been perfect without it, and without the constant use of slurs and shouting. Would have been good also without alluring to Carcosa, a dead empty alien city that never had a single image attached to it due to the original story being from the 19th century. I wish with all my heart I could recommend it because there aren't many games that touch the cosmic horror vibe, but, with each one that tries, the more it becomes apparent that cosmic horror is not simply "horror" but a very different beast who needs to be tackled with silence, emptiness, and most of all, not being afraid of not using a common "monster" to chase the player. Cosmic horror should be about the opposite indeed; a presence so alien, that the human character simply does not enter the spectrum of recognition. And that, it's something that most games or devs won't even attempt.

Pretty good indie horror game. It stands out thanks to its surreal, abstract jumps between realities and its disturbing story. It's not a typical grusome horror, more of a creepy, unsettling story with a few shocking moments. The action takes place in a huge apartment block that feels like one giant labyrinth. Even though specific areas unlock gradually and the game guides you through them, you still get a sense of being lost, which adds to the atmosphere. There are also some interesting and clever puzzles. The only part I didn’t like so much was the walkie-talkie guy. The dialogue and voice acting felt a bit goofy, though maybe that was intentional. Overall, it was a really fun 2–3 hours of gameplay that I can recommend.
