Children of the Nile: Alexandria

Just purchased the game and played, but it suddenly crashed and when I tried to continue my saved game it crashes

Took forever to get the game to work. Played a few days. Game crashed when Steam updated and I was not able to get it to work again. Also, the "expansion" is just a couple of new scenarios, not a new campaign (at least that I could tell). Very disappointing because I love this game. But Steam needs to remove it from the store because it will not run.

It's a great pleasure to build iconic monuments of the Hellenistic Period of the Ancient Egypt: the Alexandria Lighthouse and the Great Library. Great sequel of Children of the Nile.

Cannot recommend this sorry old knock-off. As a kid I loved the Caesar/Pharoah/Zeus historical city building/management games, and I was hoping I could find a good substitute with Children of the Nile. Children of the Nile could have been fun if I weren't constantly being handicapped by goofy mechanics. Other issues aside, the prestige metric alone is ridiculous and game-breaking. It may look like Pharoah, but it has none of its polish. Save your money, you have been warned!

I like to micro manage. I love this game. Better than nothing. I played a lot of pharaoh growing up. Game can act strange once your city gets big but im glad they have somthing abit newer than pharaoh. The same people who make it should make one like Zeus master of olympus. I say 8.5 out of 10
