Feeling you are no longer alone, you turn, with just enough time to shoot, killing the mutation charging mercilessly toward you. You begin to sense an eerie feeling of fear in the air, but your skin crawls as you realize it's your own...What was that thing?
Again and again you shoot, battling more strange beasts; all grotesque mutations of creatures you once knew. Suddenly the inexplicable becomes clear. Time channels have formed in the Earth's atmosphere, turning once normal life forms into something they were never meant to be. As part of a special commando unit, you must not only ward off and eradicate the beasts, but destroy the time channels to finally rid the Earth of these deadly mutations.

It's pretty bad tbh. I thought I'd enjoy it cause I played it like 30 years ago, but it's probably one of the worst boomer shooters I've come back to.

Игрушка хорошая, всё также. Украинцы молодцы, спасибо и за оригинал 1997-ого, и за ремастеринг. Я честно признаюсь: когда искал игры, похожие на Quake, не думал, что найду такой шедевр, после которого останутся действительно хорошие воспоминания. Спасибо за детство, Action Forms, спасибо большое!!!

Неймовірно чарівний Quake-like із збіса красивими локаціями - Chasm це досить унікальна гра, розроблена невеликою командою студентів КПІ. Відома тим, що є єдиною грою на 2.5D рушії з повноцінними 3D об'єктами, які вона вкрай вдало застосовує. Увага до деталей тут справді вражає. Всі анімації виглядають чудово, особливо подобається що у кожного ворога своя реакція на вбивство гравця. Звичайно відрубання кінцівок ворогам - блискуче. Це навіть може змусити їх перестати використовувати зброю. Мій улюблений приклад - орк без рук почне бити головою. Головний недолік гри це левел дизайн. Купа застарілих і дратуючих рішень, але хочаб не на рівні Witchaven. Обмеження рушія по факту роблять гру плоскою, навіть якщо вона намагається це замаскувати під полігонами. Різноманітність як ворогів, так і локацій тут чудова. Просто прогулюватись цими рівнями (особливо середньовічними) дуже розслабляє. Є кілька видів зброї, але нічого особливого. Як багато хто казав, звук рушниці це не то. Боси-головоломки це дійсно цікава ідея навіть якщо більшість із них занадто легкі. Розгадка Боніфація (лмао) з доповнення була найінтереснішою напевно. Якщо не зважати на слабкий дизайн рівнів, тут можна знайти чимало цікавого, особливо з огляду на те, наскільки гра коротка. Видно, що розробники дійсно дбали про те, що створювали. шаутаут замок мийдодір 10/10 неймінг

In 9 Stunden hatte ich das Spiel im normalen Schwierigkeitsgrad durch, aber es gab bei drei Endbossen fiese Stellen, bei denen man genau wissen sollte, was man machen sollte (Tipp Google hilft, da mit Cheats die Archivments deaktiviert sind). Die pixelige Grafik trotz Remaster bleibt noch einigermaßen erträglich, aber am schlimmsten sind die schlechten Trefferzonen der Gegner bzw. das altbackene Balancing bzw. die viel zu schnellen Reaktionen der Gegner nach dem Prinzip "Sehen, Schießen und nach wenigen Treffern tot". Deshalb muss man etwas Frustresistent sein, es halt eben einen rauen Ostblock Charme. Die Story mit den Zeitreisen genügt als Aufhänger, die Zwischendialoge wurden mir aber schnell zu geschwätzig, wobei man diese wegklicken kann. Jüngere Spieler werden daran wohl eher weniger Gefallen finden, ältere Spieler wie ich fühlen sich angenehm an die eigene Jugend erinnert, als digitale Spiele noch teuer aber auch innovativer und vor allem keine Massenware analog zu heute waren.

Is this Quake? Not at all, so it's one of the worst comparisons you can make. It's not as 'fast and quick'. However, it's great and features one of the bleakest endings in the old shooter games. Moreover, the developers even added the expansion pack, and every now and then feature some really good mods. Give it a try, Chasm: The Rift is one of a kind
