Reviews
Not sure where all these good reviews came from. This game is so basic. For a 2023 release this must be an old game or something. Wouldn't even spend an hour on this thing.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love this game, the developer is amazing, You can tell this game is a labor of love. The story is interesting, the battles are fun, and the diplomacy/resource management seems simple but can be surprisingly complex at times. Can't wait for the next game
Chaos Galaxy 2 is a massive improvement over Chaos Galaxy 1. The balancing and user interface are so much better. The building system makes it much easier to catch up with the money and resource productions that other factions have. One thing they still need to improve is the number buttons you have to click to get things done. For example, rather than having your units ask you if you want to oversee the battle or let the AI take care of it, there should be a setting that players can toggle to let the AI handle all of the battles or to have the player handle all of them manually or to have the game ask for every battle. That way I'll have one multiple less unnecessary clicks to make per turn. One thing I miss from Chaos Galaxy 1 is the factions of Pella Corps, BKJ, and Mozi Order, which made the left corner of the map more chaotic.
This is Space Opera. The real one.
Evaluations: I usually give the POSITIVE ones very late, and the negative ones very early: because I pick games which are long, require some time commitment, so even if it pleases you running a complete game takes time. This delayed me into recommending this one. I even dare to recommend it now whereas I would like to play 2 or 3 games to advise on how to play it out, or confirm if some of the elements I suspect are there, or not. the game is also not perfect, so I will point out on this review what kept me out of it for some time. But it has an immense content to play with, considerable strategic moments, in economy, tactical, or strategic situations that it can convey and actually in a way that no other game currently does. Han Zhiyu, the developer, was influenced by 40K and anime space operas, and delivered something original, which does not "copy", and focuses on great factions, open-ended gameplay and conflict. It is as if you would play a softer Horus Heresy live and everything is possible, or a Game of Thrones in space opera combat, or the Legend of Galactic Heroes. On the negative side, Chaos Galaxy 2 has a less direct, I would say worse UI navigation than Chaos Galaxy 1. Faction pick is a bit too fast, whereas what you do all the time, navigation to check fleet ("Data") needs several clicks. It also no longer has the nice cutscenes, which is explainable because it is an indie game with over 300 units, and ith the developer doing every little sprite by hand, it was a miracle he did the battle cutscenes before. Thus initially bugged me so much that Initially, I rushed to CG2 after playing CG1, but I did not feel quite at home and benched the game for a year or so. When Chaos Front got out, I realized I was not quite ready to play a mercenary corps ; instead i wanted to play the large nations! the epic battles that changed history! and the open-ended strategy elements. So I played Chaos Galaxy 2 again. And I was not disappointed.
Simple and efficient economy
Ships and infanteries (mecha-samurai) consume supplies every turn (and when purchasing them too), which you can keep up with farms and mines. Some planets have that as a feature and can receive a lot of them. Farms actually also give Labor, which gives the capacity to Upgrade and industrialize the planet. A "resource sink" exists with supplies: you can use them for training manoeuvers, and that consumes a lot of it. But it also naturally is drained by the size of your fleet, new recruitments, and god forbids, the loss of a resource planet. The supply system also has "logistics" well fit into the game. Your owned planets have a "path" between them that is faster to navigate for your fleets, but resupply rate is at 50% efficiency in orbit around an owned planet, but only 20% in deep space. So once a fleet takes a hit, and in this game, they certainly do, they take a longer time to recover. Gold is used to purchase buildings but also purchase new ships and troops, so you are strained there as well. Research is also a total you have at the beginning, to fund a few projects, but you need heavy investments to make research centers instead of other buildings. You don't have funds for that too. Despite an economical aspect that looked simple, everything needs a sacrifice and a decision. The fact that Energy, a major resource, is used with every shot and every defensive power, also drains your fleet status fast. Supply ships are not at the perfect place mechanically I would say because of their too large energy reserve and their secondary "Lock" power, because they offset some of that energy impact. But the game is still at an unique position in its economics. It also has titles, levels, skill chips, a concept of Imperial Prestige and nobility that you gain throughout the game. I had some grievance regarding some mistakes the AI made. Or the fact that "we pick" the direction of the optional Invasion ; please developer, make it so that the direction can be selected as RANDOM !!! also make it so that we don't know if/when it happens? or more nemesis in the game? But it is truly a piece of art. Even if awkward to navigate in its UI (a console legacy in menus I would say), I really feel in a true space opera game, and with mechanics, and factions, and characters, that I find unique. the game also has "more global events" than CG1, and I can't wait to see which ones.
