Cat Chess

I don't often write reviews for games, but for this one I definitely will. I had no idea this game existed until it came across my listings because I also have another chess game in my library, but I am glad that I saw it because I have enjoyed it thoroughly since I purchased it. I am not a chess master, nor am I likely to ever be. I want to say that clearly. I enjoy chess as I enjoy any other game; a way to pass time and, when I play against friends, to enjoy the experience itself. I say that because if you're looking for an in-depth, Chessmaster like experience, you probably won't find it here. I have no idea what ELO the computer plays at on the average (especially in the campaign) but I've seen it make some pretty silly moves. Still, it provided enough challenge that it was fun without being mind-bending or a slog. I know when you play PvE you can change the ELO all the way up to 3000(!!) and I have no idea what that would be like to play against because that would far outstrip my own abilities. Do you like cats? Do you like chess? If you do, you'll enjoy this game. The animations and game itself are solid, and are a very enjoyable break from the standard look and feel of a chess game. It's clever, and it's cute. If you're a casual player like I am, then I cannot recommend it enough. I am also VERY impressed with the way in which the developers have listened to input from the players and have been slowly and surely improving the game even since I purchased it. New icons, better controls, better ways to see what piece you're selecting and where it can move/will move; these things all point to devs who care about the game and care about the people playing it. I love it. If you choose to buy it (I also bough the DLC and am very glad I did), I hope you love it, too.
