Best Short Platformer ❤️ buy it you love it
At first I was unsure if the controls were janky or not, but after maybe 30 minutes it starts to become apparent the freedom of movement the game gives you. Combine that with the creative and sprawling levels (especially some of the later more abstract ones) and you're cooking. Definitely worth a play for 3D platformer fans.
Developed by Big Heart Productions and published by Klabater, Castle on the Coast is a charming 3D platforming adventure that successfully captures the carefree spirit of classic collectathon games while introducing its own personality through colorful visuals, fluid movement, and an uplifting story. Players step into the role of George the Giraffe, a friendly mascot who embarks on a journey across an enormous magical castle to repair a fractured friendship between two powerful wizards. While the premise is simple, the adventure focuses on themes of kindness, forgiveness, and cooperation, giving the game a heartfelt identity that extends beyond its cheerful presentation. Movement is undoubtedly the game's greatest accomplishment. George possesses an impressive collection of acrobatic abilities, including wall running, wall jumping, diving, rolling, spinning, and other parkour-inspired techniques that make simply traveling through the environment entertaining. Every section of the castle encourages experimentation, rewarding players who explore beyond the main path with hidden collectibles, secret routes, and optional challenges. Rather than presenting isolated stages, the game offers an interconnected world that gradually unfolds as players unlock new traversal options and revisit earlier locations to uncover previously inaccessible areas. Additional gadgets such as a jetpack and specialized vehicles help keep exploration fresh while expanding the variety of movement available throughout the adventure. Exploration is supported by a rewarding progression system centered around meaningful collectibles instead of simple completion percentages. Star Keys open access to additional sections of the castle, Keystones contribute toward unlocking the imposing central tower, and collectible flowers allow players to customize George with a variety of costumes. These objectives naturally encourage thorough exploration without making the experience feel repetitive. The world is filled with vertical spaces, hidden passages, environmental puzzles, and cleverly concealed rewards that continually motivate players to inspect every corner. Fans of classic 3D platformers will likely appreciate how the game blends nostalgic design principles with smoother controls and more modern quality-of-life features. The story is surprisingly thoughtful for a game aimed at players of all ages. Rather than relying heavily on combat or dramatic conflict, Castle on the Coast emphasizes emotional healing and rebuilding broken relationships. George serves as an optimistic and compassionate protagonist whose goal is to bring two estranged friends back together before their disagreements permanently damage the magical kingdom. This positive message gives the adventure genuine emotional warmth while remaining accessible to younger audiences. George's origins as the longtime mascot of Valley Children's Hospital also reinforce the game's uplifting tone, making the character feel sincere rather than simply another cartoon mascot created for entertainment alone. Local cooperative play further enhances the experience by allowing a second player to control Swirlz, George's flying squirrel companion. Instead of functioning as a duplicate character, Swirlz introduces unique support abilities, including magical attacks, creating helpful spring flowers, and slowing George's falls during difficult platforming sequences. This cooperative design works especially well for families, as younger or less experienced players can contribute without needing to master every advanced movement mechanic. The result is a cooperative mode that feels genuinely useful rather than being added as a simple bonus feature. Visually, Castle on the Coast embraces a vibrant hand-drawn style that gives each environment its own memorable personality. The castle features a wide variety of colorful regions, fantasy landscapes, mysterious caverns, and imaginative architecture that maintain a sense of wonder throughout the adventure. The soundtrack complements the visuals with upbeat and relaxing compositions that reinforce the game's welcoming atmosphere. Although the presentation does not aim for cutting-edge graphical realism, its artistic consistency creates a world that is lively, approachable, and enjoyable to explore from beginning to end. The game is not without a few limitations. Players searching for highly demanding platforming challenges or deep combat systems may find the overall difficulty relatively forgiving. The emphasis remains firmly on exploration, movement, and collection rather than intense action. Some objectives can become familiar during longer play sessions, and the straightforward storytelling occasionally lacks dramatic surprises. However, these elements reflect the game's commitment to accessibility, ensuring that players of varying ages and skill levels can comfortably enjoy the experience without unnecessary frustration. Castle on the Coast succeeds as an inviting modern platformer that understands what made classic collectathon adventures so memorable while adding its own sense of charm and optimism. Its satisfying movement system, expansive interconnected world, rewarding exploration, family-friendly cooperative play, and meaningful story create an experience that feels both nostalgic and refreshing. Players looking for a relaxed yet engaging adventure filled with colorful environments and joyful platforming will find plenty to appreciate. Big Heart Productions has crafted a delightful title that stands as a strong example of how traditional 3D platformers can still feel relevant today. Rating: 8/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

this game is a fun, small collect-athon a few hours of fun with some real heart
Castle on the Coast is fun for an afternoon. George's platforming skills are the highlight of this rather short game. The game won't necessarily challenge you if you aren't a child, but I can see the potential for playing Castle on the Coast with a kid you're babysitting or something. It actually has a coop mode specifically designed for a kid to play along. Where this game really gets fun is when you toggle the "invisible walls" off in the settings, allowing you to leap through the castle in a way you don't normally get to in a game. Doing this will render some minor graphical glitches and weirdness, but its worth working through that to speedrun straight to the final battle or travel to the distant background areas.
Super adorable 3D platformer!
Fantastic 3D platformer/collectathon, so glad I checked it out!
Exudes charm! A collectathon platformer that is a bit rough around the edges, but I thoroughly enjoyed my short time with it.
A weird think happened when I was opening the files of this game to try and change its fps cap settings to 240 and I typed in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CastleOnTheCoast\Saved\SaveGames\settings.sav into the win r menu as pc gaming wiki says to do to open config files for this game. That opened the .sav file but then a thing says something like 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\MALWAREBYTES\ANTI-MALWARE\offreg.dll' is a valid file but its for a different device and i click cancel on the popup and then my resolution changed to like 800x600 and then dark messiah of might and magic opens and then crashes after a second and everything's back to normal except the little thing to switch to french keyboard which I disabled before is back. The game is good though.
Nice movement
