As far as creature collector games go, this is one of the best ones I have played outside of pokemon. I love that it’s doing something different as some others in this genre come across like it’s trying to copy pokemon but never end up being any good. Are they some similarities, sure, but i think that’s to be expected with the genre itself. The whole animations are very fitting. A very solid story, likeable and memorable NPCs as well. The whole fusion aspect is very well done and works well with the game. The “bootlegs” are arguably a better take on the games shinies as well as there are multiple different “shinies” for each creature, each one matching a type with different moves to fit said type. Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised by this game and if you are a fan of creature collectors, this one is definitely worth a play.
One of the best creature capture games I've played. It's uniquely challenging in learning how each type works. It's incredibly based. You get to meet and battle Karl Marx, Pluto, Socrates, and Diogenes. The sound track is one of a kind. You can fight landlords and real estate agents that are vampires. It made me choke up a bit at the end saying goodbye to the characters I came to enjoy. I will miss Kayleigh and Meredith the most. A solid 8 or 9/10 Can't wait for the sequel. I just hope Tokusect will be in the next game.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really enjoyed this game its not ground breaking its just really high quality there is a ton of love and care poured into this game and it shows grate quality game
Play This Game; I Don't Care How.
Cassette Beasts is, for my money, one of the best games to come out of 2023. It took me a while to beat due to real life responsibilities and the like, but that only made me enjoy it more when I was able to come back. The mechanics are solid and they're explained pretty thoroughly every time they're introduced. The soundtrack rips, and the monster designer didn't get paid enough, especially with the Fusion mechanic. I was never bored while playing Cassette Beasts. I've heard some folks bandy the words "Pokemon Like" around the game, and, while there's a monster collecting base to it, I don't readily agree. It uses type matchups to promote interesting effects and has had more thought and love put into it than just calling a "Pokemon Like" can convey. The story is heartfelt and you can really grow to care about the people of New Wirral like in many great RPGs. I can't recommend Cassette Beasts highly enough, and it's my sincere hope that Bytten Studio has another game in the chamber - whether that's a new Cassette Beasts or a completely new IP. Because, in the words of the game itself: It's okay to be uncertain, 'cause I'm certain it's fine to be floating her for a while with you, wherever we are now. I may come back and clean up the review, but I wanted to get it out while I could. Peace and Love, everyone.
A bit late to the party, having only discovered this a couple of weeks ago, but I honestly think this takes the Pokémon formula and improves upon in in enough significant ways that I'd hesitate to call this a clone; it feels way too creative for that. The basic gameplay is very Pokémon-like, except: • The human characters, including the player, are adults instead of children, and while the story is by no means R-rated, it *is* a bit more serious in ways that I found really interesting, especially as the graphics deliberately shift styles at points to give very different tones to different situations. • Beasts can have 8–10 moves each, instead of only 6: this gives a lot more space for synergies and more complex strategizing. • Individual moves can have randomized modifiers on them, some of which can be extremely powerful, giving further options for strategy and synergy. • All moves can be equipped and unequipped at will, including those that beasts learn innately, giving the player a lot more freedom to experiment with builds without worrying about consuming powerful or rare moves. • Pondwalker exists. I've always enjoyed this genre generally, but I don't think I've ever found a game in it that I've been as excited about (or have sunk as many hours into already) as this one. Would absolutely recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in such games.
Just a great time man. Everytime I come back to play the game it feels more awesome than the last. I'm writing this after beating the game 3 times and 1 failed permadeath and nuzlock save. 14 minutes before the finale on the most recent game I found out "Crumble" existed. You never know truely everything about this game, and that mystery makes me keep coming back. Do not get this game if you procrasinate, because this definetly contributed to that for me. If their is a sequal I'll shave my head bald Edit: Piers is exempt. Don't buy it lol. Edit 2: ♥♥♥♥

The low health music switches to the vocal versions of the songs, I love that so much!
After spending more time with this, I just kind of hate it. Combat is interesting until it isn't anymore. The whole thing is just frustrating. It's worth a play but the everything about the game slowly turns from interesting, funny, endearing, or well done to just grating and pretentious once you spend a decent chunk of time with it. The game has a knack for seeming thought provoking, but in the same type of ways a 90s sitcom was deep and philosophical.
