I love the crafting!!! I'm not sure I like the mobs scaling to my level. It takes the sport out it. I like the mechanics that some actions grant things you require to perform other actions and it is more intricate than just needing rage. There are some other things I'm looking forward to experiencing as the game grows. Oh, please make the text box able to change the font size! So happy to learn it and play it as it evolves! :)
Right time to throw my bag of coins into the ring I'm a backer and have been since 2018 and did so because, like most people wanted to relive the good old days of Dark age of Camelot. Mark Jacobs vision for Camelot unchained was to bring back a style of MMO that had been left by the wayside a Tri-realm MMO only done by a handful of games DAOC, Warhammer age of Reckoning, ESO, New World of which i played. say the thing, Say The Thing !! yes the game has taken 13 years of development. the current build of the game has only been in development for the last 2 years. But Mark Jacobs and the Team at Unchained Entertainment (formally know as City State Entertainment) have been adamant that they wanted to make a spiritual successor to DAOC. They have tested multiple systems, CUBE being one of them and have shelfed Ideas and rebuilt the game multiple times and that's not easy to do, to get the game right and to deliver the game that we all want. A game that is fun and engaging, Three factions that players can play and build a community around and have faction pride as well as a metric ton of RVR / PVP. So enough blowing smoke up there bums. Con's * Don't expect to have your hand held * Currently no quest system * Not a PVE focus game * Don't expect a overly complexed combat system Pro's * A beautiful looking world that we would have kill for back in the 2000's ( yes some people see this is as bad thing. but as someone who has played MMO's for 25 years it's a trip back into why i loved MMO's) * Multiple classes Right off the bat each faction has 7 classes that are currently in game and you can play now, with another 4 classes in the pipe line (Crafter class, Scout, Shifter, spirit mage as of June's roadmap outline "Subject to change" because development ) * a simple yet meaningful gathering & crafting system, you want the best gear in game get someone to make it for you or if you have the time make it yourself. * RVR / PVP: go out solo, make a group, Join a Warband go out from you homeland and defend your realm and once you have done that why stop there invade another factions PVP zone Raid there point of interest harvest there resources. Weaken their keeps by preventing their troops from getting around the map fast by taking their stables. stop them from respawning by taking their church. take their barracks and armoury to weaken their guards and then bash down their gates, fight the lord and take their keep and then you can do it again, but holding three keeps isn't easy !. and there is more to come don't like any of that that's fine. i wish you all the best in what ever game you play next. you like what I've said then for a very small amount come give the game ago if you find Issue flag them up on Discord help the team make this game the best it can be. Ask for help cos as i said this game won't hold your hand.

New player... Do I wish it was further along after all this time? Yes. I had a blast with the community, right now they make the game enjoyable. The current builds are not for everyone. The world is not even up 24/7. If you are expecting a fun weekend excursion for a few hours here and there, it has that. I highly recommend chatting on Discord or the game and joing the groups for RvR fun.
The game has all of the makings of a great game, it is still early access. The systems and designs are promising and it is fun even in it's current state. Even in the few weeks of early access the dev team has shown responsiveness to the community, and they clearly have their ear to the ground. Having said that, the game is not polished yet and if some work in progress elements will frustrate you, simply wait a little longer to give it a try.
getting better
Honestly it doesn't even feel nostalgic. I feel like I'm running around farming loot with no powerups trying to craft gear just to have it reset later. The landscape is too open no hills, the terrain is flat for when you get into large fights its just chaos not a siege battle. The graphics well I don't need to even go there what did they invest into all this time there are no buildings anywhere no dungeons... It reminds me of an Age of empires game that went from birds eye view to play in first person only controlling your character. Its not immersive no magic awe moments trying to take in the surrounding scenery. Just play it for 1 hour set a time and then get a reimbursement from steam.
This game has come along way and is playable. Helpful community and lots of pvp fun
[Review of version 0.45] Terrible state! The graphics are horrible, the movement is terrible, half of skill just don't work in some situations, the gathering is boring, the npcs are too dumb, lighting is bad. Total waste of time! The concept seems to be good, however, everything else is beyond ready.
This game was absolutely horrible. There was literally nothing to do, the graphics are horrible, the is zero character customization, etc. Now, this may seem harsh to say about a game in Early Access mode, except for the fact that it has been in development for 13 plus years. This game should be called Highway Robbery Unchained, because it absolutely is playing people out of their time and enjoyment. It saddens me, and maybe just maybe it might get better, but I doubt it....avoid this like the plague, covid and all other diseases you don't want.
