The most-anticipated game of the year and the sequel to the best-selling first-person action game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 4 → 2.71/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The multiplayer for MW2 is great wish it were still getting updates. It's very fun and the campaign is top tier. I'm new to playing COD games and thought this would be a good starter game it definetly is but in story mode Favila or whatever the correct spelling is , is absoulutlyy horrible i could wright a whole boook on how CRAP Favila was especily on the first time and on the first time for hardend and veteran I HATED it but it is a great game.
Recommended Hours on Record: 81 hrs Last Played: 1 full second ago Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) is not just a game — it's a lifestyle, a philosophy, a spiritual journey that rewires your soul with every bullet fired and every tear shed. It is, without question, the single most important thing to happen to humanity since the invention of electricity. I was but a boy when I first loaded into Team Deathmatch on Highrise. Little did I know, I wouldn’t just be entering a multiplayer match — I’d be entering my destiny. As the game's god-tier graphics glistened on my 720p monitor and my 60Hz CRT buzzed like a caffeinated hornet, I knew in that moment: I had found my calling. Campaign (aka the reason I now understand love, loss, and what it means to truly feel) From the moment I stepped into the dusty boots of Roach, Soap, and the absolute chad of chads, Captain John Price, I was HOOKED. Every mission is a cinematic masterpiece, a Shakespearean tragedy disguised as an FPS. Remember “No Russian”? That mission had more emotional depth than 95% of Oscar-winning films. The betrayal? The sacrifice? The slow-mo shooting while the music swells? I wasn’t playing a game — I was living a blockbuster film while stress-eating Wotsits at 3AM. Soap MacTavish. Let me talk about this man. This majestic, mohawked marvel of military excellence. If Shakespeare wrote a sonnet about a soldier, it would be about Soap. I would follow that man into the burning core of the sun and thank him for the privilege. Multiplayer (aka the proving grounds of digital champions) This wasn’t just online matchmaking. This was a brotherhood. A sacred rite. A pixelated battlefield where boys became men, and men threw their controllers at the wall. Each map? An entire emotion. A full-blown lifestyle. I am here to pay tribute to them all:

Afghan – A windswept canyon of chaos. Snipers nest atop a downed plane while madmen sprint through the caves. Nothing beats planting a claymore and listening to the screams.
Derail – A frozen graveyard of trains and dreams. Visibility is for cowards. This map is for real men who crawl through snow to deliver pain and whispered threats.
Estate – Nothing feels more elite than storming a millionaire’s cabin with flashbangs. Defending the house? You are the king. Attacking it? You are the revolution.
Favela – A sweaty symphony of vertical violence. This map taught me paranoia. Enemies in every window. Every toilet. Every dream.
Highrise – The rooftop battlefield where legends are born. You haven’t truly gamed until you’ve 360’d someone off the crane like a caffeinated falcon of doom.
Invasion – War-torn suburban America. Perfect for mid-game existential crises about the cost of freedom. Excellent cover, excellent chaos.
Karachi – A dusty, close-quarters dance of death. The only map where I died more to people hiding in corners than from actual skill. And yet... I respect it.
Quarry – An industrial maze. If you’ve never fallen off a ledge mid-firefight here and screamed IRL, did you even play MW2?
Rundown – A beautiful little river village filled with betrayal. Snipers in the church. Shotgunners under the bridge. I miss her every day.
Rust – The holy land. The colosseum of 1v1s. This is where friendships go to die and pride goes to be reborn. If you lost a match on Rust, you carried that shame for weeks.
Scrapyard – Metal chaos incarnate. This map smells like rust, gunpowder, and pure, undiluted rage. The plane fuselages are sacred ground.
Skidrow – Urban warfare turned up to 11. Every hallway is a horror film. Every door is a gamble. This map invented my anxiety.
Sub Base – Snow-covered science facility with tight corridors and frozen corpses (mostly mine). Tactical, cold, beautiful.
Terminal – The greatest map of all time. Burger Town. Duty-free slaughter. A perfect map in every sense. I still hear the intercom in my sleep.
Underpass – Rain-soaked sadness. This map is wet, grey, and full of invisible snipers. Just like my soul during 2020.
Wasteland – A wide open field of fear. The radiation zone is a metaphor for all my bad decisions. Perfect for thermal snipers and existential dread.
And then the DLC arrived — like divine intervention:

Bailout – Apartment complex gunfights. Every corridor a kill zone. Every kitchen a death trap. Urban warfare never looked so homey.
Salvage – Frozen junkyard? Yes please. Shotguns reign supreme here, and I have the rage-quits to prove it.
Storm – Industrial warehouse meets weather-based chaos. It’s moody. It’s atmospheric. It’s pure violence wrapped in cloud cover.
Carnival – A literal carnival of death. There’s something deeply poetic about getting sniped from a clown’s mouth.
Fuel – A massive oil refinery designed for long-range legends and people who like to camp with heartbeat sensors in remote corners. (Guilty.)
Strike – A remastered map from CoD4 and a welcome addition. Classic layout, classic vibes, classic meltdowns.
Vacant – The office of chaos returns. Dusty desks, narrow hallways, and the distant memory of HR complaints echo in every room.
Crash – Rooftop sniping, helicopter wreckage, tight alley fights. Crash is not just a map — it’s a way of life.
Every map in this game was a different flavour of pain and pleasure. Each one carved a new memory into my soul. I can name more Modern Warfare 2 maps from memory than I can my own family members. MW2 multiplayer is eternal. It was peak. It was perfect. And it will never be surpassed.
